PTO switch shuts down tractor

If it is blowing fuses my experience is you have a short in a switch or wires. When you put in the pto it blows the fuse. That would lead me to think the electrical short has something to do with the PTO safety switch, wire or circuit..
I am posting this link it is not your tractor but it demonstrates the safety switches on lawn tractor and shows his pto safety switch.
Your issue should be in the pto safety switch or wiring circuit.

Might be something like cut or wire with insulation stripped back touching a ground. Switch could be shorted.

Try looking at the directional lever at the Transmission. The PTO for the deck will shut off when shifting into reverse. You may have to simply disconnect or jumper the reverse switch depending on if it is normally closed or normally open. Try it both ways to see what works. Also check the engine oil level, The low oil level switch will shut the engine down if more than a quart low.

Probably spindles bad, or something wrapped around blades or belt

Check pto safety switch.

I have a Cub Cadet 2155 lawn tractor that mows great, purchase in 1999, however it started heating up about an hour into mowing and then I have to shut it down until cools. I have replaced the air filter & that did not work ?

check wiring and fuse maybe switch

the safety switch on the pto lever is not activated (lever is not back all the way)
this unit should not cut in reverse

its the electric clutch on the engine that engages the belt to run blades check the centrifical clutch or electric clutch

check the safty swith under seat if its bad it won't allow you to turn pto on for deck run a jumper wire in the plug if it works while you know its the safty switch
