That model has a electric powered damper that opens or shuts to reduce or increase the flow of cold air from freezer. Sometimes they stick open and will not close. It's quite expensive to replace. And the temperature control board is also expensive. I believe it's time to talk to the Landlord and get them on the project. Thanks, Sea Breeze
You may be able to open the duct work and see if the damper door is stuck or has ice preventing its movement. Or the door may be defective. number 420 in photo is the damper # WR49X10091

Here is a link to the service manual for that model and it does talk about the damper and testing. You just may need to get familiar with using that model. Thanks, Sea Breeze

I'm thinking that the temp knob you are adjusting is for the freezer. There are two different knobs. One is a thermostat and the other adjust the air flow from the freezer. I would turn the thermostat back to where it was. Then turn the other knob to a lower setting. If your not sure which one is which, try this. Turn the knob you have been turning one way. See if it turns the fridge off. If not turn it the other way. If it turns the fridge off, it's the thermostat. That one should be set around the center of the scale. Now the other knob controls the air flow. See if you can find where the air from the freezer is coming through the wall from the freezer. While the fridge is running. Turn that knob until until the air no longer comes through. Then turn it 1/4 turn the other way and see if that does not fix it. (
What most people do not understand is. The fresh food section of a fridge (Other than Sub-Zero type) is cooled by the air from the freezer. There is only one compressor and the thermostat bulb for the compressor is located in the freezer even though the control knob is located in the fresh food section. I hope this helps and I think this will fix your problem and if you did'nt know this, you can now say you have learned something today. Good luck.
