Hi,
The manual filler door release is located behind the right side of the trunk liner. Remove enough of the half-turn screws to pull the liner away, locate a wire with a loop in one end. That is the manual release; pull it and the door should pop open. If that happens again, that means the door lock or servo has gone bad. I just disconnected the electrical leads, taped the lock in the open position and there it shall remain until I secure another electrical lock.
Good luck. it worked for me.
There will be a release inside your car. I'm not positive where it might be, but the most common place for a volvo seems to be somewhere on the passenger door. If it's not there it may be on the dash, below the driver's seat, center console.
SOURCE: gas door is locked and don't know how to open
Open the holstery in the trunk, you will find a pull ring, just pull it and the gas lid will pop open.
