SOURCE: Nikon D80 flashing 'err' and 'off'
Usually you get this kind of problem in variations of temperature. Humidity means moisture and that isn't good. The Nikon D80 body was not built for harsh conditions. Nikon define that any use above 85% humidity, or use near 100 degrees, plus any use involving moisture of any kind? including hands/body (camera resting on a shirt while walking) is bad. So it's not robust by any stretch of the imagination. The model is not made with environmental seals, like pro models. I guess they aimed this model at enthusiastic amateurs and didn't see the need. Trouble is this model can, in the right hands take pro-quality shots. I use two, like you, but I saw this problem coming and I never wear them suspended from the neck and put them away when they are not in use with plenty of silica gel in my bag. I shoot racing and I REALLY sweat! If you have the lcd screen up against you on a hot day it intensifies the heat. The problem is likely to be moisture on the PCB board, which causes corrosion to the board. If you've ever done gym class and the windows have steamed up it's the same thing. It's just means the temperature inside the camera is way too hot. Anything electrical causes heat, so the temperature on the inside is gonna be way hotter. If it is cooler on the outside it causes condensation. If you have dried it out and you still have problems it's gonna need fixing at Nikon. The bottom line is that it's fragile; that is alluded to in the manual. It sounds improbable but I can assure you that Nikon will tell you the same. It's not the sweat on your hands that is causing the moisture..highly unlikely. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: Nikon D80 flash won't pop up
Must be a problem with the flash lock. Try to pop up the flash manually using the flash button located at the top left of the camera beside the flash. If this does not work, you may need to have the cam serviced
SOURCE: nikon d80 problem (err flashing with r09 in the lcd display)
yupz.... r 09,, it was not an error. it mean a value of the camera memory buffer . a memory buffer is temporary memory before your captured images stored to memory card.
The 'Err' error message, mean your camera is malfunction. and all you have to do is contact nikon service center
