I have a Sony SPP-A945 cordless phone with digital answering machine. The problem is that the sound quality of the answering machine, especially the greeting message, has really deteriorated. How can this be? It's a digital answerer, so it's not like there's a tape to wear out. Can anything be done?

1. Press 'PGM'- "program" button.
2. Press "speed dial" button.
3. Select "station # " i.e. any button from 1-9 for speed dialing.
4. (make sure to make a note of this selected # against the corresponding tel # and /or the person's name)
5. Dial the complete (incl. 1 for USA or country code for other country tel. #s) telephone number to be stored for the selected speed dialing station #.
6. Press "PGM" button again to complete the storing of the tel #.
7. Test, after dial tone, by just pressing the selected station #
