The sink leaks at the bottom of glass sink where it connects to the piping

First do some problem isolation to make sure the water is not coming from the supply lines dripping along the pipes, or from a leak at the sink/counter interface and just dripping down on the disposal and drain from up above because caulk is bad. Also check your sprayer hose to eliminate that. Best way is to dry it all completely with paper towels and a hair dryer and then watch what happens when you run hot and cold water. If it is a double sink, make sure it is not drain water coming from the other sink and migrating over to the disposal side. The reason for all this checking is that the drain connections are notorious for leaking when they are bumped like if you store pots and pans under the sink. Once you have pinpointed it to the disposal as you first believed, then you need to dismantle it and check the gaskets. G

Remove it, (Don't forget water will come out when you uncscrew it!!!) clean it thoroughly, especially the ends, clean and check seating of any rubber washers to make sure they are fitted correctly and not being distorted when the rings are tightened, reseat it with no force (it should sit naturally without having to force it in) and tighten rings. There are lots of videos on youtube showing how. If you cant stop it leaking buy a new trap. It's worth while looking very carefully for exactly where the leak is before you remove the trap, it might be coming from higher up. Repair Leaky Sink Drain Pipe

Your disposal is rusted out and needs replacement.

Garbage disposal mechanism cannot be disassembled for repairs.
Here are basic disposal parts:
1) Sink basket that connects to sink and is held with 3 screws from below.
2) Disposal body which connects to sink basket using metal ring.
3) Rubber washer between disposal and sink basket.
4) Dishwasher connects to upper part of disposal with a hose.
5) Electric wire coming from disposal switch connects to disposal near red reset button.
6) Tubular drain pipe connects to side of disposal

You might be able to buy time filling hole with epoxy or silicone caulk and let dry for 2 days.
10-year old garbage disposal had a good run.
Disposal will need to be replaced at some point.

When I worked apartment maintenance, we replaced disposal with same size and brand disposal.
That way we didn't have to change out sink basket or move pipes around under the sink.
How to: Disconnect 2 nuts on p-trap and trap falls loose.
Using hammer and screwdriver, rotate steel connector disk that holds disposal to sink basket, and disposal comes off.
Before installing new disposal.
Attach electric wire to new disposal, black wire to black and white to white, and push in red reset button.
Attach dishwasher tube to new disposal. Knock out plug inside dishwasher opening.
Lift new disposal up into place, and attach to old sink basket.
There is a rubber washer between disposal and sink basket, Use new washer.
Connector ring catches at three points, all three have to connect.
You can use bottle jack to lift disposal if you have problem.
Re-assemble tubular pipe.

Buy a tub of plumbers putty also.
Remove 3 screws that hold sink basket, remove basket and clean sink opening.
Put finger-size roll of plumbers putty around sink opening, and then push new strainer basket into plumbers putty.
Tighten basket from below, wipe away excess putty around sink opening.
Install new disposal as described above.



Tips for tubular pipes:
When taking apart tubular pipes, start at p-trap and take apart as few pieces as needed to do job.
On image above, loosen both upper and lower nuts, trap falls loose, and then work on disposal.
Any tubular drain pipe that gets moved while working under sink needs to be disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled.
Metal pipes have rubber washer >> always use new rubber washers.
Plastic pipes have plastic washers > plastic washers can be cleaned and re-used.
Plastic washers have flat side that goes toward nut, tapered side away from nut.



When reassembling tubular pipe, we use rectorseal on washers and joints.
Slap a good amount on washer just before pushing washer in place and attaching nut.
Rectorseal will ensure tubular drain pipes won't leak.

Garbage disposals can get noisy and sound like they're eating spoons instead of banana peel.
You can put vacuum hose in sink opening and see if something is in there.
As long as disposal disk rotates freely, and disposal is not shaking around and causing pipes to leak, then you can use it until it dies.
Otherwise, the bearing is probably rusted, or something is loose. Disposals rust out and eventually freeze, or the motor slows down and overheats, or they rust a hole and water leaks under sink.

Disposals rust out and need replacement.

Check a couple things first.
Run paper towel around top of disposal to see if moisture is leaking from around sink basket or dishwasher hose connection. Then check where tailpiece connects on side of disposal.
If these places are dry, the disposal has probably rusted out.

remove the waste fitting and clean off all the putty. Using a clear or white silicon put some under the waste fitting collar then insert it into the basin hole. Next put the washer and nut on and wind it up to about 1/2" from the basin. Using the silicon again put plenty on between the washer and basin ensuring complete coverage of the waste circumference. Hand tighten the nut until silicon pushes out from the sides of the joint. Finally tighten about 1/2 turn using water pump pliers.
Wipe off all excess silicon.
You can tighten a little more if the waste fitting is all metal but i'm guessing its plastic and it is possibly being overtightened.

Tighten all connections first and see if you have a problem. If you still have the leak, then dry the piping under the sink (using a towel) from the sink downwards. Then fill the sink with water and then get under the sink and open the drain. Use a flashlight and feel for moisture with your hands. Start at the bottom of the leak and work your way upwards until you find the area where the leak is occurring. Often leaks appear to be at the bottom of the pipe but the leak can occur as high as the sink drain seal. Be sure to check the back of the piping for leaks. Once you find the leak, you can then determine the course of action to repair the leak.

If water is getting into washer when not in use, then I would assume that the washer outlet pipe is connected to your sink waste outlet, this being the case, then this is the cause of your problem
What is happening is the washer outlet hose is below the bottom of your sink outlet pipe, and each time you empty the sink, some dirty water is syphoning back into the washer.thus causing the smell.
The solution is to raise the washer outlet hose above the bottom of the sink and waste pipe outlet so that the water cannot drain back into the washer.
It would be a good idea to remove the pipe from the washer where it fastens to the sink waste, and clean the connection of muck etc'
