Hello! I have a problem with my Nokia 3230. I noticed that the "headset" icon is displayed on the screen of my phone and it can't be removed. As far as I know, the icon will only appear on screen if the headset is connected to the phone. But in my case, I am not connecting any device on my phone, and the icon is there. So what happens now is that I can't hear calls. I haven't tried connecting the headset yet, but I will try later. I also noticed that when I activate the "Silent" profile, it will automatically change to "General" in just a matter of seconds. I have already tried restoring the factory settings, but the headset icon is still there. Can you please help me solve this problem? Thank you!
If factory settings didn't work,this will SURELY help:
1.Turn off your phone..
2.Press and hold three keys, i.e. Green Button(call answer key) + " * " button + " 3 " button and while holding the buttons boot the phone..
3.Hold till the phone shows the Nokia Logo/formatting screen..
The problem will be solved for sure..

if this didn't do it then it is for sure a hardware problem..the connection pin below is damaged..only Nokia care can deal with that now..
I had almost given up on my N97 as it was posing this ridiculous problem for which rohansachar gave a very interesting solution. Almost at the point of dispair, i thought that let me try this solution as well and wolla..it worked..interesting and very innovative. Just found a way myself to solve this issue. You need to wipe the connection part of your cell phone. Mine is the Nokia 3223, so it the bottom park where you can connect the headset and the charger, Wipe it even with a shirt and it's disappear, without formatting, disconnecting, removing sim cards etc.

hey i have the ame problem. the headset icon just wont disappear no matter what i do and i cant hear my calls unless they are on loudspeaker. please help. this is upsetting.
