Have a home cinema HDD/DVD recorder receiver system RH361 (main unit) and RH361SE and cannot get any sound. Can get sound through the TV if I play a DVD but not when playing the DVD through the player or any recordings. Have tried the trouble shooting but this has not helped. The blue light comes on the home cinema system so we know that the fuse is okay but we cannot even get any sound out through the test mode. Can anybody give me some assistance please?

Try and go into the hdd/dvd setup menu and change the audio output from digital to analog or vice versa.

Sound goes on and off while watching programmes every so often

This sounds like you have the device on a wrong sound setting. Check the sound settings. For example Dolby sound needs special settings.

Installing sony dvd home theatre dvd recorder to digital tv

you may have to press the audio button or set the audio stream on the dvd's (disc) menu, as some films use the 2 channel audio as default

How do i connect my non hdmi xbox 360 to my panasonic scbt205ebk home cinema and panasonic 42v10 plasma so that the sound comes from the home cinema system. i also have sky hd

If you use a component system (1 yellow video wire, 1 red audio wire and 1 white audio wire)

You will have to connect the audio wires to your cinema system and the video directly to your set.

The unfortunate part of this is that when you want to use your system, you will have to change the input of the TV AND the Cinema system.

The same would be true if you wanted to use the DVD connectors (YBPBR). You would connect the video to the TV and the audio to the Panasonic unit.

The system you have is meant more for just playing DVD's and not a total cinema system. This is why there are limited (extremely limited) video inputs. The system is mostly for output of sound and of a the built in DVD video.
