My AC compressor doesn't start, although the Honeywell thermostat shows cool is on.

Both the fan and furnace work. I'm wondering if the Honeywell thermostat is properly wired--that's the only thing that has changed since last year when my AC worked just fine. Thanks. Barb

SOURCE: Amana French Door Refrigerator "on" but no cooling; freezer still works

There are 2 possible problems. One is the defrost cycle is not working properly this is usually indicated by a large amount of frost on the back freezer panel. If so, the circuit will have to be repaired and the evaperator thawed to remove the ice build up. The other is the fresh food damper is not working properly this is behind the "lump" in the back of the fridge compartment above the top shelf, remove the louver panel to see if it is open or closed. closed will be warm open should be cold. The water dispenser reservoir is probably frozen due to poor air circulation.

SOURCE: Honeywell CT3611 thermostat, not working..

if you cross the two wires and you see a slight spark and heat comes on, then the problem is in the thermostat, if not then problem is at furnace it self.

I installed a new thermostat on my hvac system and the heat is not working anymore.

On that thermostat there is an R and an RC wire connection, the R is the power wire for heat and RC is the power wire for cooling. If you connected the power wire (normally red in color) to the RC only the fan control and AC control will work, there has to be a jumper wire between the R and RC terminals (assuming there is only one control transformer) for both the heat and cool functions to work.

AC has stopped working. CT3500 thermostat. Had "replace battery" indicator on. Replaced batteries with fresh new ones. Now the blower is not working when AC is on. If I set the thermostat to Fan ON,...

Possibly - the fan is supposed to work in conjunction with the compressor. Otherwise the evaporator will freeze up.
Check to see if the thermostat can be reset to factory defaults because it definitely is not working right.

Check at the furnace there is a 3 amp fuse on the circuit board you might have blown it when you installed the t-stat without shutting power off to the furnace. Also make sure RH and RC are jumpered together Y= cool G=fan W= heat R=power. let me know ok

the colors of old system are for heat pump.if you have a heat pump you need heat pump thurmostat and colrs will make more sense.if not, then you need to go into furnace to see what colors go where.yellow is cool, goes to compressor contactor, usually another wire going from furnace to outside unit.green is fan relay rh is heat call rc is cool call

Display is blank and furnace fan stays on

Remove wires at tstat Turn switch for furnace off than on.
touch the red wire to the white to simulate a call for heat.
Or Touhc red green and yellow to simulate a call for cool.
If that works get a new thermostat.
