Does it happen with all inputs?

The most common problem I have found with this type of problem is a component cable coming loose from the television or cable or satelite box. If this is the case you can check by turning on the DVD and see if it has the same problem.
If only one input has this problem and the input devices work well with the other inputs, then, the problem would be in the main board.
Check the tint, is it centered? It should be.
With the color turned down is there a good black and white picture (Does the set have a good gray scale)?
These are the questions that my shop use to identify the source of the problem before we schedule a service call.

I am having picture problems with my n 64 connected to a Panasonic viera. The picture is black and white and very grainy if anyone can help I would be very grateful thanks

If there is no yellow socket (terminal) on the TV, as in most recent year's VIERAs:

Connect the Yellow male plug from your gaming device into the TV's GREEN female socket (terminal).

Press INPUT on the Panasonic TV remote and select the Video input. In some VIERA models, you need to press INPUT, go down and select the Comp. option and then press >right to select Video.

To get audio (sound), make sure to connect the Red and White plugs from the gaming device into the TV's Red and White sockets (terminals) that are labeled AUDIO.

Panasonic Viera PC-to-TV Via VGA has Purple Tint

Purple Panasonic PC>TV Problem:
The VGA cable uses three primary color RGB channels.
Red, Green, and Blue.
The picture is made up of pixels or dots arranged in a grid along the "X" horizontal axis and "Y" vertical axis.
The computer mixes the intensity of each color channel to create a unique color per pixel.
All RGB at 100% creates white.
R+G creates yellow.
R+B creates magenta, ie purplish.
G+B creates cyan.
So a purplish tint sounds as if your Green wire has no signal, which may indicate a faulty VGA cable or VGA socket.
Put another way, (R+G+B)-G=R+B=magenta.
So try another VGA cable, spray all socket pins with "Servisol " or similar contact cleaner.
0%<--------->100%
Cyan<------->Red
Magenta<--->Green
Yellow<------>Blue
All 0%=Black; All 50%=Grey; All 100%=White.

A red light blinking 10 times means that a video board has gone bad. Contact Panasonic to see if they will help you out.
