I doubt that Comcast remote will work in your Dynex DVD player. You may view the pdf format manual of this remote at this LINK. Click the model no. of your remote control and then click the "download manual" at the top right. Listed there the brand's compatible for that model. Note that the universal remote control has a limitation and only compatible brand listed in the manual can access the unit. Most of the universal remote control has a limited brand compatible most especially in DVD's.

To ensure compatibility you must access USER MANUAL from RAC Remote.Look inside for DVD code for MAGNAVOX. Most Universal remotes also have an AUTO search mode. These options are usually found in the manual. GOOD LUCK

You can purchase a universal remote control and that should work for sure. And when buying a universal remote u dont need to compulsarily check for code compatability.
