6. Playback
(1) Set channel 1 to play.Turn the REC/PLAY key on. Then press the channel key of track 1 (the track you just recorded) to set it to Play (key lit green).
(2) Return to the beginning of the song.Hold down the STOP key and press the REW key to return to the beginning of the song (?p.37 "2. Location").

SOURCE: korg d3200 screen has lines through it making it

This sounds like a failure of the LCD connections at the LCD sandwich. It may require replacement of the LCD screen. If one is careful and is adept at electronics, one can DIY this. Be caareful to keep track of screws and location and be very careful of the cables within the unit. If you are unsure of your capabilities, best to take this to a competent electronics repair shop.

SOURCE: Korg d3200. I can't play or burn cds all of a sudden. Says no disc after inserting a disc. What up?

It sounds like the drive isn't working correctly. i suggest taking it to a Korg authourized repair shop to get it looked after as they will have better access to the needed parts. You can find one in your area through this link-

Can two d3200 recorders connected and record 24 tracks simultaneously

I will assume you want to sync the two as one. I have one of these sitting in a closet. The 3200 will record 12 tracks at a time if I remember correctly. I believe the Korg will sync to Midi Time code. I just wonder if the midi implementation allows for start and stop code. Anyway, I found this information:
x2. MIDI messages used by the D3200 Note On (Note, velocity), aftertouch, pitch-bend:
The D3200 uses these messages to control effects.
Program change:
The D3200 uses these messages to switch scenes.
Control change:
The D3200 uses these messages to control mixer and
effect parameters.
MMC (MIDI Machine Control):
MMC messages can be transmitted from the D3200 to control an external MMC-compatible sequencer or recorder. MMC messages received from an external sequencer or recorder can be used to control the D3200.
MTC (MIDI Time Code):
The D3200 can transmit or receive MTC messages to
synchronize with an external sequencer or recorder.
MIDI Clock:
The D3200 can transmit MIDI Clock. It can also receive MIDI Clock if you have selected MIDI Clock for the tempo track and are recording the tempo track.

IMPORTING FILES INTO THE KORG D3200

The import needs to happen from a computer (or a CD-RW) >D3200, not from a flash drive or backup drive.

I managed to erase al my songs / track by expanding the back-up file on my pc. Can I recover these data in any way?

You need an application to recover your deleted files.

Some of these data recovery applications are free and does not cost you a dime.

Others you will have to purchase.

Here is a YouTube video that show you how to recover your deleted files.

Make sure ALL of the interconnected equipment is powered from the SAME receptacle to avoid ground loops due to the safety ground. DO NOT Use two wire power or use ground lifting plug adapters. Make sure you use balanced lines, either XLR or TRS cables. Do NOT use TS cables.

We laid down 5 tracks of a new song and listened to them. We then changed screens to open another project (song) and the song we wanted to open (all 24 tracks) is GONE!! The other 21 songs on the machine...

Somehow proper save and shutdown was not done. You said the magic word PANIC... That is a deadly word in this situation. So first thing like for lost files on a PC is to look around... carefully. LIKELY the files are still there, just under a different folder or imbeded in another project. These systems do a pretty good job of not letting one clobber their files without confirming AS LONG AS proper shutdown procedure is used or power doesn't fail. The five tracks you might have forgotten to save...but the other should be there.

As usual with the korg d3200 the locate buttons have gone in and will not work, the store button is the same and as a result i can't use the editing side. this is the 4th one that has suffored this problem...

If the buttons are just sticking at their sides in the panel, lube with a tiny bit of CRC 226 on a Q tip. Get the CRC226 at Home Depot in the electrical dept. If the button mechanisms have failed or plastic hinges have broken then replacement is only option. Losing 4 of these to same problem is RIDICULOUS... time to change brands.

See if you can download the original "demo song" into the unit and see if the demo works. Should be able to find that on the Korg site under support.

From the user manual troubleshooting:

No sound

• Are the other devices or headphones connected

correctly?

Check the connections. ........................................ (see p.6)

• Is the power of your amp or mixer turned on?

• Is the [MASTER LEVEL] knob raised?

• Is the Global mode Group 4 "MIDI Local" parameter

turned On?

Check the setting of this parameter.

• Are the bars of Drawbar 1 or 2 pulled out?
Pull out some of the bars.

Also check out this site and scroll down and do the "Factory reset" by holding down the buttons they say... AND please note that you have to hold them for a while during this.
