Verbatim i have the same problem with my verbatim store n go 2 gb.when i want to copy on/from it appear a message that i could't copy because "is write-protected.remove the write protection or use another disk" how can i do?

What ever program you used to back up the files in the first place.

Did you use windows, or a different program ?

Are they stored on this

When you use a program to backup a operating system, the program has the option to restore the system.


If you copied files onto another HDD, then you just copy them back.

You need to post what you used to do this.

If you can read the drive, Copy the information from it, into your computer, and format the drive, copy the files back, and it should work... also, if you have a security switch on the drive (write protection) you have to disable it.

All you need to do is plug your drive into your computer, then copy your file from your PC and paste it into your store-n-go drive.... that's it.

if you still cannot do it, do a low level format, using this tool:

if you still cannotdo it, it may be a harware problem. try to copy a big .mkv file like that from another pc, to be sure it isn't your pc's fault, if you can do it, then it's your pc, if you still cannot it's the disk.

in the firs case the troublesooting is quite difficoult but if you post your system configuration i may help.

in the second case if allso a low level format fails, then i don' think we can do something for youo... you should get assistance from the manufacturer....

format flash drive first then copy what you need

Easy Fix.. You need to reformat your USB File System to NTFS rather than FAT32 (Default). FAT32 limits the size of all downloads to 4 GB. NTFS has no upper limit so you could download an 8GB file, if you wanted..... FAT32 is the default on the unit you have. Easy fix.... right click on your drive, click 'format', 'file system' change to NTFS and click 'start'. That's it ! ! ! !

ITS virus problem which is playing with the inf file of the usb drive.
also another possibility is 1) the usb port ihas loose connections and disconnects i between drive sensing
2) certain 8 gb drives go back to a capacity of 2 gb drive if one formats it accidentally .

Can you open it from your pc hdd, if so then it probably corrupted while copying it over. Just try copying it again.

I looked into similar problems and if this works ill let you knw i downloaded Paragon Pation Manager and i plan to use this to create a 8gb partion on my flash drive i dont know if this will work but ill get back to you
