Need to install two tm-u220d for POS on same computer. The one installed on serial port just prints the test page but does not work with the point of sale programme. Second printer just does not install on serial or parralel port. The printers does not come with installation cd. Help

Hello Sanjaypk,
Printer problems can be a real headache.
This definitely sounds like a driver issue because you are able to print a test page so that tells us the computer is successfully communicating with the printer port. What is happening here is the Computer is communicating with the printer through the Operating System (Windows or Apple etc) but the driver IN the software for the POS is not. You didn't mention the computer Operating System you are using or the POS software but the dates of each are ctitical.
The tm-u220d is a high speed printer so make sure you set your LPT1 settings for High Speed Bi Directional printing. (You do this in the Printers Configuration area.)
As far as a driver, check the dates of the driver and look for updates. If you like what I've told you so far then let me know and I'll be glad to assist you further.
Best Regards and Best Luck!

I have an Epson TM-U220D Serial Printer. The printer passes the self test wthout any problem. When installed to an XP or Windows 2000 PC (using port Com1 - my Dell PCs have only one serial port each), the test page is not printed even though no errors are alerted. It is as if the operating system assumes the printing has taken place, as the print queue changes from 1 to 0 after a few seconds.
I have tried using both generic/text driver (as advised by our POS supplier) and the Epson drivers for the printer. Help!!!
