Lcd LG television...sound suddenly stopped. no sound from tv speaker either. Our sound system works fine, radio, etc. While watching TV it suddenly went mute.

Common LG LCD TV REPAIR - NO PICTURE OR BLACK SCREEN FIX ... came on good with green light working properlybut still no picture.
If it works with the 360 and speakers are on---disconnect power from the TV and the box for the uverse and after a wait power them back--its possible a glitch from box if used caused this.
Also if box has audio/video outputs connect from them to a rear input on the set to see what happens.
Hello A sudden stop of sound output while the set works denotes either its speaker or audio output IC damaged. Check the speaker first by using a multimeter for its voic coil continuity. If speaker is OK, the fault is surely with the audio output IC. It should be replaced with same type and number. It is a semi-skilled work, you have to open your tV, locate the audio output section. You must have knoledge in electronics to do this work. OK.
1- check all the cables that are hooked up to the TV
2- try to get audio to and external speakers or home theater (to check the sound card).
3- if the step # 2 don't work either you have a bad sound board on your TV.
4- opn the TV try t get the part # of the board, and replace it
