We have a Samsung UN65KS850DFXZA that is not powering up. The red light and Samsung logo cycle on and off about every 20 seconds or so. Was hoping someone could help identify the component that might be faulty. We looked at the circuit boards, no sign of a component failure.

Are the symptoms identified typical of a power supply failure?

  • Mark Burmeister Jul 11, 2019

I replaced the power supply still have the same issue. Power cycles every 3 seconds or so.

  • Mark Burmeister Jul 12, 2019

Well, new power supply and main board. Basically no change. When initially plugged in, standby is working but when power button on remote.or TV is pressed same symptom. And unit must be unplugged to reset.

SOURCE: Power Surge damage. Suggestions on which part to replace.

I would start looking at the power supply, it's usually a separate board where the a/c line plugs into. In many cases i have seen that the problem you described is from a damaged power supply, sounds like something is shorting causing the power supply to continuously come on and off. I would first check the capictors to see if any of them have blown, usually cylinder looking and sometimes you'll see an X or a K at the top of the cylinder, if it's blown then the top will be bulging out instead of being flat. If all those look good then there is probably a short somewhere else like in one of the transistors, if so you'd be best to just find another power supply board to replace.

SOURCE: Fujitsu Plasma Screen won't power up

This is most likely caused by the Main Power pcb.

See Fujitsu Service Bulletin on this problem in a similar model from Fujitsu. -see link below
http://tomtom2k5.free.fr/fujitsu/PDP-0035-06.pdf

A competent service technician should be able to implement the service bulletin.
A similar service bulletin is probably available for your model. Request bulletin from Fujitsu '[email protected]'

Samsung UN60ES7150F is cycling on and off. Every 4m44s it turns off and 8 seconds later turns back on. I have isolated it from all other components so it appears the TV is responsible for the issue.

Maybe overheating, but try power cycling it first

My Samsung J3 HAS FROZEN I cant switch it on or off

Simultaneously press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons for 12 seconds or until the device power cycles. If it is frozen on the logo, do the aforementioned and then just release the power button when the logo appears.

How do I fix a Samsung LN37A550P3FXZA that has flashing red light and black screen cycling on and off?

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Red lamp 20 seconds after start

Before dismounting, I had the fabulous idea to clean for calcium (I don't know the word in English). Each 20 seconds, process stopped with red lamp. After 20 cycles (20 seconds pumping, error, 1 minute waiting, reset), problem was solved. Afterward, a complete clean cycle, and that's all.
May the force be with you,
Jean.
