SOURCE: rowe ami r80 jukebox is exepting selections but keeps reapeating

I don't have a manual handy but it could be a few things, you may need to reinitialize the jukebox, maybe there is a dirty wiper or the control module may be on its way out. I would try to locate a repair manual for it, there might be an old vending company in your area with one.

My Rowe AMI Diplomat 200 turntable stopped spinning

Either your motor plug has come undone or the power to it has stopped, around 30 volts, lift off the turntable and check it out

Selections already made on jukebox, how do I clear them

Hello stillwell42,

What model is your Rowe Ami jukebox, there will be an information label on the back or inside the jukebox with the serial number and the model type. We can suggest a solution once we know your model type.

Alan

We just bought a 1974 ami, plugged it in and it pl...

Hello,

If your Rowe Ami is indeed a 1974 model it will be a TI-2 or CTI-1 (chest style jukebox) this era of jukebox uses a search unit to push out selected pins on the unit A side and B side for the mechanism to search for and play.
If the search unit is pushing out the correct pins but the mechanism is not scanning to select those selections, it could be that the mechanism is skipping over the pins or it could be that the search unit is not pushing out any pins at all with the search unit motor just spinning around.

If you are in the UK then I could help you.
If you are in the USA try posting a request for help on www.phonoland.com or on www.collectingbanter.com

I have a 1979 rowe ami jukebox model R65 when i switch it on it plays one record then just spins the record magazine and wont select another record what parts do i need .

Hello Gary,

If your jukebox is ineed a 1979 model it would be a R-83 Fiesta, Claremont or Disco. These jukeboxes curved top to bottom.
I think your jukebox may be the 1981 R-85 Starwood, Starburst or Starlight.

If your jukebox is from the 1979 era upwards then it will be electronically controlled.
You need to send in your boards to a Rowe Ami specialist in the USA you would contact :-

Rowe Ami R-80 imperial jukebox

Hello Andy,

Yes I know the 1976 Rowe Ami R-80 jukebox very well as well as most of the other Rowe Ami jukeboxes.

The turntable motor and the lighting work off of the 110 volt output from the power supply.
The other power voltages are connected to the power supply via the molex plug.

Pin 1 30VDC white/red
Pin 2 30VAC yellow/black
Pin 3 Common black
Pin 4 Ground gren/yellow
Pin 5 No connection
Pin 6 Common black

All the voltages are protected by circuit breakers.

I assume that you may be in the UK if this is the case here are my contact details.

Rowe jukebox

Hello,

I take it that the jukebox accepts selections when you type them in. Also that you have tried selecting the A side and the B side records.
Is the switch on the CCC (Central Control Computer) set to Record it should not be set to Video.

Rowe Ami jukeboxes are very pone to dry (cold in the USA) joints.
If you can solder then the following items need to checked for dry joints.

Power Supply PCB (printed circuit board)
CCC
Mechanism Control Board

When taking out the plugs pull on the plugs (not the wires)
Look on the soldered side where the connectors pins are fitted for any cracking around the soldered joint ( this is the sign of a dry joint).
Resolder any suspect joints on all of the boards and refit into the jukebox and test.

If this does not cure the problem then the boards will be needed to be sent to a Rowe Ami specalist, I am one of these in the UK.
