Hi, the defrost element of our defy double door fridge is tripping our electricity. Are there any certified defy technicians in the garden route, specifically the George, Sedgefield area?
Contractor's Assistant: What's https://waltonbd.com/refrigerator-freezer/freezer and model of your fridge? How old is it?
Defy double door model F640 and it is about 15 years old
Contractor's Assistant: How long has this been going on with your refrigerator? What have you tried so far?
For about a month. Just before Christmas. We have had an appliance technician here and he said it's probably 99% the defrost element. He checked everything else, the plug the gas etc. Those were all in order.
When the panel lights on your Defy fridge freezer are flashing, it usually indicates an error or a specific condition that needs attention. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Power Reset: Start by performing a power reset to see if it resolves the flashing lights issue. Turn off the fridge freezer at the main power supply or unplug it from the electrical outlet. Leave it unplugged for a few minutes, and then plug it back in or switch on the main power supply. Check if the lights continue to flash.
Check Error Codes: Consult the user manual or documentation for your Defy fridge freezer to identify the meaning of the flashing lights or any error codes displayed on the panel. The manual will provide specific information on what each flashing light or error code signifies and any recommended actions to resolve the issue.
Temperature Settings: Ensure that the temperature settings on the fridge and freezer compartments are set correctly. Incorrect temperature settings can sometimes trigger error codes or unusual behavior. Adjust the settings to the recommended levels and observe if the flashing lights persist.
Contact Customer Support: If the flashing lights persist or you are unable to identify the issue using the manual, it's recommended to contact the Defy customer support or an authorized service center. They can provide further guidance and assistance in diagnosing and resolving the problem.
Error code 22 on a Defy Slimline hob usually indicates an issue with the touch control panel or power supply. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Turn off the power to the hob at the circuit breaker for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. This can reset the electronics in the hob and clear the error.
Check the hob's power supply. Make sure the hob is getting power from the electrical outlet or circuit breaker. If the hob is plugged in, try plugging it into a different outlet or resetting the circuit breaker.
Check the touch control panel. Sometimes, the error code can be caused by a problem with the touch control panel. Make sure the panel is clean and free of debris or moisture. If the panel is damaged, it may need to be replaced.
Contact a qualified technician. If the above steps don't resolve the issue, it may be a more serious problem with the hob's electronics or power supply. Contact a qualified technician or the manufacturer for further assistance.
Hi i have a defy G91641n it cools but the temperature adjuster dont work it shows funny figures and light is off amd doesnt beep but cools the fridge and freezer
Evaporator thermistor is on the radiator located at the back of the fridge. Older fridges had a big on aircooled along the entire back of the fridge whilst the newer ones have it under the fridge with a fan cooling it. 90% of the time the fan gives up causing this type of issue.
