You need to specify if the tape is moving or not. That will circoscribe the problem.....it could be a faulty head if the tape is moving, or a rubber belt if it is not moving

hai, If you are service engineer you can do this problem, Please, check the cassette IN sensing Switch. The place of the Switch is right side of the mechanism, Clean S/w with IPA solution & check. It will be ok or other wise you have replace s/w or mechanism.

SOURCE: Connect DVD recorder to Video player/recorder- transfer VHStodisc

hook the video output from vcr to dvd input at rear, then hook output from dvd to tv input. note; you can not record protected vcr movies you can only record tv shows from sattelite to vcr or dvd recorder. its best to record straight from sattelite to dvd recorder for picture clarity.

SOURCE: panasonic dvd recorder wont record or play

It is also possible that you are trying to record using an already used -R or an unformatted RAM disk.

SOURCE: toshiba dvr670ku - vhs tape won't play, shuts recorder off

look to see if tape will fully load and if FF or REWIND work, if not a transport problem, drive mechanism not moving the tape, unit will sense this and shut unit off----even a problem in the loading mechanism for the VHS tape not loading the tape all the way will do the same thing.

Do they make vhs c cleaner tapes palmcorders?

To find this information you will have to either go to the Panasonic customer support website and enter your palmcorder model number and check out the frequently asked questions to see if they have already asked this question and have a answer in the form. the website is (http://www.panasonic.com). you can call the customer support telephone number at 1-800-211-7262. Between the hours of 9am-7pm EST. You can also use the customer support e-mail at [email protected] Give them the Brand name and model number of the palmcorder. Tell them the problem you are having with distortion of the video recordings and ask them what type of head cleaning tape they recommend for cleaning the model palmcorder you have. It is best to use the manufacturer brand head cleaner to not over wear the tape heads during cleaning. I Hope this information helps you with your palmcorder problem.

How do I play a JVC EHG tape ?

There is a VHS cartridge for a JVC EHG 30 VHSC tape. It's called a Panasonic PV-P1 Adapter, and think you can find one on eBay. I've used one before, and from what I remember, it worked pretty well. The only bad thing about it is that you need an AA battery to operate it. Well, I hoped this helped, if you still need it.

Tapes not playing

Hey do the tapes play at all? sometimes some tapes recorded
on other machines won't play on others. maybe you need to adjust the tracking on the VCR you are playing it on. If the tape
was recorded on a VCR that is misaligned it might not play back
on another VCR. Also the tape may have been recorded on a
super VHS VCR in et (extended definition) mode if so they won't play on just any VCR. If the picture looks scrambled like a
premium channel on analog cable then it's probably recorded in et.
and if its recorded on super VHS tape it may eject out of your VCR.
They don't make these S-VHS vcrs anymore but people still
have them around. There is also Digital VHS they're not
compatible with VHS either. A VHS recorded in et mode will
play on some more expensive vcrs it should say so on the box
or instructions.

Vcr tape problem

It sounds like the tracking information is being lost for brief periods of time. Tracking is recorded at the lower edge of the tape, and if the tape is wrinkled or otherwise damaged in this area, playback will go out to lunch. A visual check of the tape would be in order. Have the heads been cleaned in these machines? This would be another area to check.... Also, there could be small differences in the tape path alignments, perhaps the control/audio head alignment is slightly different between the 2 machines.
