My grandfather would take a cutting right by the junction of the cut stem and the main stem. Put it in Rootone. He did it various times of the year.

SOURCE: I lost the instructions to my 9 ft GE Trim-a-tree

same problem but many more lights involved. buy the $20 product called "light keeper pro" and follow the instructions. this device fixes this problem by either flashing a charge through the burned out section to 'heal' a failed shunt. if that doesn't work you can trace the current with the device to find where it is interrupted. the device chirps when it senses the 60 cycle hum of the a.c. current. replace buned out lights as soon as you find them as they cause an overload in the remaining lights in that circuit.

there is a little tab behind the air filter but facing forward. it is a funny shape. hook the spring end over this tab and you should be good to go

Will my flowering Mali's tree flower again if broken of at the base

Your tree may have been grafted onto a different rootstock. If the break was below the graft, the tree that is growing will not be the same as the tree you have lost.

I need to prune a mature avocado tree main branch of two branches for clearing space for constrcution.

Hello -

The information here may prove instructive:
http://www.californiaavocadogrowers.com/cultural-management-library/avocado-tree-pruning-basics

Also see the information here:
http://www.treeremoval.com/trimming-and-pruning/how-to-grow-and-prune-an-avocado-tree/

Regarding the tree root / roots and removal, you can find instructions here:
https://www.wikihow.com/Dig-up-Tree-Roots

However, removal of the avocado tree root / roots may promote root rot for the tree and may lead to eventually killing the tree. For root removal, I would recommend you contact a nearby tree surgery business for advice and for the actual root removal.

Best wishes.

My tree is about five or six inches tall and has three major braches that spread very wide compared to the height. one of the three major branches is getting longer than the other two. should I trim it?

This is an old post, but I didn't see any replys, so I decided to answer. Trees are pruned to help it obtain and maintain a desirable shape and to help it to make more branches and become fuller.

With that in mind, if you have one branch that is out of shape, by all means you can prune it. I would cut it just above a bud node. That takes the "vertical" growth away from that branch and forces the rest of that branch to grow "out" not "up" by making more lateral branches and become fuller.
