Frigidaire front loader makes banging noises in spin cycle

When the washing machine goes into spin cycle, it sounds as if the machine is unbalanced. The inner drum bangs loudly around inside and the machine stops to try and redistribute the load. I checked the level of the machine and I looked inside at the shock absorbers. All seemed ok. I see no leaks or any broken parts. The machine is 13 years old and never had work done. Is there anything else I could look for before giving up and getting a new machine?

Hi there.......if this problem has just recently appeared...its quite possible that 1 of the tub suspension springs has broken resulting in the tub lying at an angle and causing this unbalance....you can check this by tilting the machine and looking at the tub susension points

Wash machine won't spin all the time and makes a loud banging noise.

Check to make sure that your clothes are not piled to one side causing the load to be off-balance. If that does'nt fix it then, It may be that your machine has a balance stabilizer on it that has worked its way loose or even off.

I have a Fridgedaire Gallery front loader, was making a loud banging noise on spin cycle, now the whole drum has dropped! help!

The symptoms that you describe sounds like the spider arms that support the drum are broken. It is a very expensive repair. Get a few estimates, before deciding whether it is worth repairing or replacing. Sorry.

Front Loader Model #FWT449G5S00 banging on spin cycle. One bottem shock snapped replaced with new shock kit (twice) still bangs. At first I thought bang ( out of balance problem) was because of the broken...

The bearings on the drum may be going bad or the counter weight may be broken off or missing or heavy unbalanced loads. Reach inside and try lifting up on the interior drum. If it moves up and down or you feel any popping I would say the bearings are going bad. They usually make a lot more noise on the spin cycle also. Similar to an airplane taking off.
Hope this helps.

Loud banging noise during rinse

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the rinse or spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary. This will solve your problem.

Hi, our washing machine started making very loud banging and whining noise in the final spin cycle and the machine was shaking. We have taken off the back. The springs look ok. any suggestions?

Loud banging is usually an unbalanced load. whining noise is some times debris trapped in drain pump causing it to squeal like a fan belt on a car. Strings, threads and hoses tend to get wrapped under agitator and cause noise, too.
