There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer
itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up
erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as
new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override
the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be
reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware
upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites. WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.
Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or
FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right
click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to
Windows-based computers. You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself: Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media
Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath
the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking
on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of
Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select
"Format." - this should erase everything. -Tha Mp3 Doctor

Try this method to Delete Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio Books, etc. from MP3 Player
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer" When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there. Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible. Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete" Now your mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want. Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player. Good Luck, I hope this helps Please rate me, Thank You
you cant put music from iTunes onto your mp3.. it doesnt work that way, you have to rip songs from a CD you already own onto your computer and then you must go into your media on your computer to do this. and then there should be a file labled the title of what the album was called.... you also need to go and click the start icon on the bottom left hand part of your screen, click the icon that says: 'My Computer' , then click on the icon that says CENSO (E;) , go to your media page and click the file of songs you wish to add to your mp3 and drag it to the mini bar at the bottom of the screen that has your mp3 info (songs and stuff, FYI dont delet anything from there that is NOT a song), your mp3 info page should pop up and then last but not least, drop your song file in any BLANK space.
You should be able to modify and delete playlists/songs by connecting the player to your computer and accessing the files by going into my computer and selecting the player drive.
Hi the best way to remove songs off mp3 player is connect it to your comp then goto my computer and open up the mp3 file might say removable disk ok select this then it will list all the songs on the mp3 player now if you right click on the songs you want to delete it will delete them. If you cant use bigpond on your mp3 try limewire this site will give you any song you can think of for free just download them as you would normally then transfer to mp3 if the songs dont play on your mp3 then you need to convert the song format to mp3 just use search engine and type convert music file This will list all the sites that do this and most of them a free. Let me know how you get on or if you need further help ok
Instead of deleting the songs you may need to format.
If you haven't tryed this follow these simple steps.
To format your device first click on "Start" then click on "My Computer" now look for your mp3 player, if it hasn't been change the names usually called "Removable Disk", once you've found that right-click on it then click on "Format".
Now you've formatted put songs on then try your mp3 player to see if the problems be fixed.
You can manually delete the music thru My Computer. Just click on the device name, and open the Music folder.
If you dont have a Music folder, you need to enable hidden files and folders on your computer.
Best of Luck.
YOUR NOT GOING TO HAVE THE OPTION ON THE MP3 PLAYER, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPTION WHEN YOU LOAD IT TO THE COPUTER. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS RIGHT CLICK ON THE SONGS THAT YOU WANT REMOVED AND SELECT DELETE. I HOPE THAT WORKS FOR YOU.
THE IPOD ISSUE I HAVE NOT CLUE SORRY
Chances are that you are using windows xp. open up your sansa folder to where it says pictuer, movies, ect. look at the picture to see what to do. In your player folder click tools --> folder options --> View. Under hidden files and folders click 'show hidden files and folders, click ok. The music folder would now show up where the videos and pictures are. Simply open the music folder and delete the ones you do not want. By default the songs are sorted by artist --> album --> song.
