A CCTV camera or Closed Circuit Television camera is simply a camera device that connects back to a central control box for displaying it's video output. Most cameras provide colour video during daytime and black and white video at night using infra red light. The camera is powered by a power cable from the control box and the video transmitted via a coaxial cable. The term closed circuit is the connection of the cabling back to the control box.
