SOURCE: LTV-27w7 blackscreen

Have you tried unplugging overnight? Sometimes mine gets screen garbage and that clears it up. Of course, now it says "Auto Scan Required" every time I power up. Maybe I should've grabbed that after Xmas 32" at Fry's for $400.

SOURCE: Maxent 42" Plasma TV takes 3 - 5 minutes to sync after turning on

I had the same issue....thankfully, I had purchased an extended warranty from Best Buy...I had been in a panic, because I NEVER thought I would pay a grand for a tv, but I LOVE it...anyway.....I had the "Geek Squad" come to look at the tv....the tech took 30 secs....there is a problem with your Y-SUS (Y-sustain board)...it will need to be replaced...and...the tech called another tech, and he advised that the Z-SUS be replaced as well (apparently he had to go back to the same home after a Y-SUS replacement to change out a failed Z-SuS).....retail on Y-SUS is about $300...ebay has them for less than half that, if you think you can do it yourself...keep in mind that "Maxent" is a Zenith/LG product, so finding parts might be a challenge if you base it upon Maxent....hope this helps!!

SOURCE: Tv Turns on then stops after a few minutes

This set uses a lamp and a bad lamp will cause this symptom. You should be able to get the lamp out yourself and get a part # off it.

The backlight inverter board may be going out, or bad capacitors in the power supply.

SOURCE: Sanyo Vizon 42" Plasma DP42746 Was

This is a common problem with these TVs. You can download the official Sanyo repair manual for this TV (DP42746) at http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/43343/sanyo_dp42746.html. I uploaded it here when I had the same issue with my TV last year. The solution is almost always to replace the Power Board (Y-Main) and the Upper and Lower Y Buffers. The parts and costs (from Sanyo in July 2009) are listed below (NOTE: Sanyo will not ship these parts to anyone but a repair shop): 1. V4 Y-Main (Y-Sustain) Circuit Board (Part # LJ92-01200A, Alt Part # LJ41-02759A) - USD $139.00
2. Upper Y-Buffer Circuit Board (Part # LJ92-01202A, Alt Part # LJ41-02760) - USD $64.00
3. Lower Y-Buffer Circuit Board (Part # LJ92-01203A, Alt Part # LJ41-02761A) - USD $64.00
Sanyo charges USD $10.50 for shipping, which brings the total cost for parts to USD $277.50. From my research, a shop would probably charge between USD $500 and $700 to do this repair. FYI - there is a class action lawsuit pending against Sanyo for this issue. The V4 Y-Main (Y-Sustain) Circuit Boards fail VERY frequently in this TV due to overheating. Hope this helps.

Audio is out of sync with people talking on television. Any suggestions?

It depends if this happens all the time, or on certain channels, or just on a digital TV, or in certain weather conditions. The audio and video are different data streams that have to synchronize. If your antenna blows in the wind, you could have the video lose sync and take a fraction of a second to get its act together, and by then the audio is on the next word. Some local broadcasts have intermittent sync problems. Sometimes just flipping between channels gets it back in sync.

Audio and video get out of sync

What you are doing requires a lot of resources. A lot of RAM memory, a fast processor, plenty of space on your hard drive. If nothing else has changed you probably need to clear space from Temp files, un-necessary software and old emails! After a clear out, give it a Defrag and try again.

Audio out of sync

There could be a few different problems. You should first narrow down the possibilities. If you are playing the mp4 file directly from your laptop try changing the source. Put the mp4 on a usb drive or on a playstation/xbox or simply on a dvd. Try playing the file through one of these other sources. If the audio no longer lags behind the video than its likely an encoder setting that your Hisense doesn't handle well. If lagging is still present on all your sources then change the type of cable. If you are using HDMI try RCA or vice versa. You can also separate the audio from the video. Try using a VGA cable between your laptop and TV for the video and use a separate RCA to 3.5mm headphone jack for the audio, Most Flatscreen TVs have dedicated audio inputs for different video inputs. Try out these different set ups and you can determine if the problem is with the TV the Laptop or the cables in between. If it is the TV you may have a problem with the main board but this is unlikely especially if the audio video sync works fine with other file types.

Audio out of sync

Not much information is provided but generally speaking a sync problem when playing back is not a problem with the amp but a problem with the source file, especially if you are playing a downloaded file. If you are playing a DVD this should not happen. If it is happening with a DVD, please provide further information.
Cheers, Don.

The audio and video are not in sync

Are the movies you're watching store purchased DVDs? Sometimes with downloaded movies, the audio and video are just out of sync.

If they're store bought, it's possible that you've got a delay set in your receiver. Consult your receiver's operating manual to see if there's a "delay" option.

It's also possible that you're hearing that delay in the TV speakers.

If you've got the audio coming through the receiver AND the tv, you'll hear a slight delay when the audio's traveling from the DVD player to the television itself. This could happen "sometimes", if the tv volume is on, and not happen when the tv volume is off.

Sound/Video delay

Lip-sync error is a widespread problem caused when video is delayed and audio arrives too soon. Widespread enough that three different manufacturers make dedicated products to address it, in fact (see review link below for those three). It is present to some extent in essentially all broadcasts and DVD?s. If you have a recently acquired DLP, LCD or plasma display it may have added enough additional video delay to make it noticeable but lip-sync error comes from MANY sources starting at image capture and continuing through post production and broadcast or DVD encoding and it is cumulative. There is usually enough lip-sync error in broadcasts and DVD's to cause a negative impact on viewer perception (Research done at Stanford showed this.) Many people don't consciously notice it until it gets very large because it's such an unnatural phenomenon ( audio can't come before the action causing the sound in the real world) we apparently subconsciously avoid looking at the faces and seeing the lips move "after" the sound from them is heard. A study at Stanford proved this causes negative viewer perception even for those who don't notice it so this is something we all need to notice as you already have. For those reading this who haven't noticed it, take a close look at the LIPS - force yourself to overcome your natural avoidance mechanism that keeps you from looking at the lips - and you will see lip-sync error you never noticed before. I think you will be amazed that you could possibly not have noticed it before. You will be seeing what JC is seeing. I even see it now on CRT TV's and am amazed I never noticed it so it's very obvious some avoidance mechanism is at work. And back to JC?s solution: I'd recommend one of these digital audio delay units. That way you can correct for ALL cumulative lip-sync error no matter what its source might be. Any one of these units reviewed will correct it ALL. With any one of these units you can adjust for perfect lip-sync at the start of each DVD or broadcast and not disturb the image you are watching during that fine adjustment. I have had a Felston DD340 since 2004 (three generations earlier than the DD740 covered in the review) but it still has the most important feature of all these units from these three different manufacturers which is their "plus and minus" buttons on their remotes that allow you to tweak the delay while watching your material without upsetting the video your are watching. My av receiver has a built in delay of 80 ms which isn't even enough audio delay to offset the video delay my plasma display adds but even if it were it isn't practical to adjust it for the changes in lip-sync error from program to program and DVD to DVD since it overlays the screen with menus when making the delay adjustment. With my DD340 (and any of the units reviewed) all you have to do is press the plus or minus button until you get perfect sync. Here is the review I mentioned: [URL="http://www.audaud.com/article.php?ArticleID=3011"]

Audio vs Video

Happens mostly on your local channels right? This is a issue with the local broadcaster and not directv. Due to the digital transition this has been a widespread issue. Until the local affiliate for NBC, ABC, etc. fully transmit a digital signal then this sync problem is to be expected.
