your router may be blocking the port contact your network administrator. if you are the network admin please make sure the necessary ports are open to allow network access not all public WiFi location will let you use your psp on their network here is the Sony online manual for psp http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psp/current/network/index.html
this means a connection with the server could not be established. try this step by step guide. If this doesnt work let me know at what step you get an error and what the error code is. Then from there i can specifically diagnose your problem by providing you with step by step instructions on how to solve your error. step 1
Your PSP will detect any wireless wireless network within its range as long as the wireless
adapter is switched on. The switch for this is on the left end of the PSP, near the analogue
thumbstick. If the switch is in the down position, the wireless network adapter is off; push the
switch into the up position and it'll turn it on. If you're not going to be using wireless
networking it's a good idea to keep it turned off as it'll make your batteries last longer.
step 2
When you turn on your PSP's wireless adapter it'll look for any wireless networks nearby. If
there's another PSP within range it'll automatically set up what's called an 'ad-hoc' network
between the two. This will enable you to play multiplayer games between the two PSPs with one
hosting the game and the other joining it. When you want to join an existing wireless network,
such as when you want to browse the internet, you'll be using an 'infrastructure' wireless
networking mode.
step 3
To connect to a wireless network, go to the home screen of your PSP and look under Settings. If
you scroll all the way to the bottom you'll find Network Settings, so enter this and on the next
screen you'll be asked to choose between Ad-Hoc and Infrastructure, so pick the latter by
selecting it and pressing X. Press O to return to the previous screen. You'll need to set up a
Connection. You can save the settings for 10 different Connections and you can choose between the
Connections you've set up whenever you need to use the Infrastructure network mode.
step 4
Pick New Connection and press X. You can give the new Connection a name by pressing X and using
the text-entry screen. Give it a descriptive name like 'Home Network' or 'University Network' so
you know when and where you can use it. When you've entered the name for your new Connection
you'll be asked whether you want to scan for WLAN settings or to enter them manually; select the
Scan option and press right on the directional-pad. Your PSP will then scan the area for any
available networks and collect the settings needed.
step 5
A list of available networks (called Access Points) will be displayed, giving its name (called an
SSID), whether it's encrypted or not and the signal strength. If there is more than one network,
use the D-pad to scroll down to the one you want to join and press X. You'll be asked to confirm
the settings so press right on the D-pad to scroll through each. When you get to the security
settings, choose the appropriate setting from the list, which is WEP in most cases, and press
right on the D-pad again. If you need to enter the WEP key, speak to whoever runs the wireless
network and they'll provide it for you. Press X and enter the WEP using the text-entry screen.
step 6
Once you've done that you can check the settings you've entered on the final screen and save
them. Now you'll be able to connect to the wireless network. If you return to the main home
screen you can now update your PSP's software by going to Settings and selecting Network Update.
Alternatively you can go to the Network section on the far right of the home screen to browse the
internet using the PSP's in-built internet browser. Or you can fire up that multi-player game
you've been itching to try out and get going!
Now you're online, if you need further assistance or get an error code please let me know and i
will be glad to assist you further. Thanks-Midwest-tek
With your Psp turned on go to the “Settings” in the menu (scroll to the left)
Scroll all the way down until you have reached “Network Settings” and click the “X” button to enter
Select “Infrastructure Mode” and hit “X”
Select “New Connection” and hit the X button again
Now you will have a number of options for connecting to a wireless
connection. Choose “Scan” and press the control pad to the left, the
PSP will now scan for wifi signals around your area
When the PSP finishes scanning you will probably have a few
different wifi connections. SSID is the name of the connection, the
Security column tells you whether or not the connection is password
protected, and the last one is the signal strength the higher the better
If you want to borrow your neighbors unprotected wifi select a
connection with “None” in the Security column and a strong signal. If
you want to use a secure wifi than you will need to know the password.
Select one and press the X button
Now the Psp will confirm your settings proceed by pressing left on the d-pad and save your settings
Now test your connection if you are able to connect, awesome. If you were not able to connect try doing the settings again
With the connection settings in place we can now connect the PSP to
the internet. In the home menu scroll all the to the left until you
have reached “Network” and go down to “Internet Browser” and hit “X”
Your browser will appear, select the little square box to enter the
web address, play around with the different options. Have fun with your
PSP online
Hi there,
Connection error usually is because you set some restriction to make or receiv a call. However, this setting can also be done by the network provider.
And since you said you got no signal, means that your SIM card can not finish registering to the network, which normally means that your network provider is blocking your card. Same thing happen to pre-paid card which no longer in active period and already pass grace period.
I suggest you call the network provider, or come to their support center for solution.
This error means that either the internet signal you are trying to connect to is very weak or not there at all. If you have wifi internet around you it could be that there is a firewall blocking you from using it if it is someone elses wifi and if it is yours your router or modem could be blocking incomming wireless connections. If the second is the problem try restarting your modem or resetting the router to the default setting
Well it look like you might not have a WiFi network connection set up yet on your PSP. So This is what you want to do if you have DSL at home and a WiFi router. When you search for a new network connection and you find the one from your home, you will still need the WEP key wich is the most inportant in order to allow you PSP to use that WiFi connection. That must be why you are getting this error messege
I dont have ps3, but are you trying to connect thru wifi? if you have a usb cable, i always found it best to download the update off the psp website and transfer it to your psp, then run the update off it. that would be my suggestion, i think you can also connect your psp to your ps3 (lucky bugger) thru usb aswell, so thats what i suggest you do.
