Hi, I have the same problem. I connected RCA DRC-285 thru HDMI to Sony Bravia KDL-46VL130. Enabled HDMI on both units but no video or sound through HDMI on TV other than for about 1 second when I press the HDMI button on the RCA remote.Hi, I have the same problem. You need to set up the out put of your DVD player. First hook up a non hdmi output to the tv, either component or coax. You don't need to hook up the audio. You should get a picture from this connection. Then you can go into the menu and set your hdmi output to match your tv, probably 1080i. You may have to turn your volume up higher when using the hdmi cable than not. I hooked my audio up directly to a surround sound and don't use the tv's speakers.

some televisions require a seperate audio feed from the HDMI cable to hook up audio. if you have the cables for this i would try that first. normally ends up having to go thru an AV connection
Hook your Xbox to tv via HDMI, then hook TV to reciever through digital optical or composite cables. If you try to get your picture through receiver first, you may get picture and sound but, sound may be delayed and picture might not be the best. Bettter to run through tv first then provide sound to receiver.
You may have to go into the TV setup menu and change a setting for Sound (or Audio) that tells the TV which input to use (HDMI or component) for sound. Usually the HDMI connection will work automatically but if you connect cables to Audio L/R that may override the HDMI sound input.
not 100% sure but check the manual for your tv it may be that you need a faster hdmi cable, as with having a larger tv it will work at a faster rate so the basic hdmi cables wont work.
If i am not mistaken you can select the HDMI signal going out on the 663, this means you should select to have only pictures to go out as sound will have to be reproduced by the 663. So HDMI output setup on the 663 should indicate image only, no sound.
Have you try to replace your HDMI cable?I recommend you to pick up a good Monster HD700 HDMI cable from a local retail store like best buy or circuit city.In case it isn't the cable problem, you could return it. However, when you are a using the HDMI cable,it is normally either have both picture and sound or nothing at all.Are you sure you didn't hook up the audio OUTPUT from your TV back to a receiver input? Or even an optical output from the TV to the receiver? solutiondoct
Yes, the firmware on your hdtv box has an old firmware, I switched my old hdtv box with a newer one box and the problem was solved. It seems that it can't work if your hooking up with DVI to HDMI cable to your receiver to tv. Your hd box must have an HDMI out otherwise it causes problems. I also have rx-v661 and i finally hooked up everything HDMI to the receiver and then to the tv and it was having the problem you speak of. After I switched out the hd box for a newer one everthing worked fine.
