You can successfully block ads using the Adaway app which was previously available in Google play store. The app is open-source, free and needs root access to work. Contact your service provider

Call Phone Co and see if you are programed for the Caller ID feature. In some areas this feature cost more. Whether or not you are paying for it, it may not be programmed in their switch for you?

if you dont want the ads there are a few solutions
1. get the paid version although this cost $ and not always better
2. run the game in airplane mode game still works fully just no internet contact.
3. stop using the apps as they really are getting very intrusive.

Galaxy S4 comes with alot of stuff that you probably dont want or need. You can get rid of all of it by rooting your phone and installing a custom ROM. However depending on competency this can range from difficult to dangerous as you can \'brick\' the phone.

You should be able to call your service provider to have the subscriptions stopped and have a purchase blocker added to prevent any future unwanted subscriptions. You can still purchase ringtones and games with the pin code your service provider sends to you by email.
