This model also has a paper filter for the Optic block that should be changed. No one ever said anything about it. shortens the life of the optic block if not changed.

Your optical block(engine) is bad.The warranty extension for this model has expired but if you call Sony customer support they will probably cover it.

Problem is called the optical block. Sony has issued a major recall. If you contact them they will offer you a tv a discounted price. Call 1-800-282-2848. Tell them your problem and they will set you up. Hope this helps.

It sounds like the Lite Engine/Optical Block is bad. Sony has recall on most Models and will replace this part at little or no cost to you. So, call Sony at 1-239-768-7547. Hours: Mon-Fri 9:00AM-10:00PM / Sat-Sun 10:30AM-7:15PM EST.

optical block failure call sony, they are a known fault on all rear pro sets from 2003-2007, they may replace for free, have extended warranty on this part.... there are lawsuits pending against sony over this problem

Yes, I do. It needs a new light engine. Very costly repair. However, Sony has extended the warranty on many of these LED projector sets. You need to call a local Sony authorized service center and see if your model is covered. Otherwise this repair could run over a thousand bucks.

thats a common symptom for that model which is usually related to the optical block. Very exspensive repair. Check with a sony authorized repair center as Sony has recognized the problem and offer assistance with certain models yours may be one of the ones affected.
