When you first get the DS it will have a bit if charge on it but only a few hours worth. When the DS charges it usally comes up with a orange/red ish light then that goes out about a few hours later when its charged. ad if you want to chek if it is charging correcly turn the DS on whilst it is charging and the little battery simble in the top right corner should show the battery carging.

Hi my nintendo ds lite wn't turn. do i require to charage my ds,or no?

A Nintendo DS console will indeed need charging. If your light appears as red, yes, you will need to purchase a Nintendo DS charger. All and every kinds of Nintendo DS's require charging. Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite, Nintendo DSi, Nintendo DSi XL, and Nintendo 3DS. You will have to insert the wall outlet side of the plug into the wall, and the other smaller side into the DS, DSi, or 3DS.

DS WILL NOT CHARGE

Hey.. I can help you.

It seems the charging port on your DS has gone bad and will need to be replaced. That's the only solution at the moment.

Search online for replacing your charger port on your DS lite system, or send it in for repair if you'r ein warranty.

If you're not, purchase an extended warranty from https://www.newcorp.com/ and they'll repair it for you.

My ds lite wont turn on i bought a new baterie and charged it with my cuzin charger and it still does not turn on it just goes on for 3 seconds and turns off and only the top screen blinks 1 and it just...

Nick625343,

Your DS Lite is damaged and needs to be sent to Nintendo for repair.

Nintendo will likely tell you the unit is beyond repair and must be replaced.

If you want to avoid the middle man, you can always purchase a new DS Lite from your local electronics retailer.

Nintendo DS charger

Likely not, as the DS Phat and Lite use a special charger that you can get at Walmart or somewhere similar for cheap, although I'd complain about it to whoever you bought the DS from and see if you can get a free charger from them.

US Nintendo DS-Lite with converter problems in South Africa

Hi,

It should work straight out with a step down transformer. That is of course if the mains supply in South Africa is 240 240 and the unit being American is 110.

This is of course not unless it was initially tried without a transformer or stepdown converter which would mean that the charger/adapter has been fried and therefore damaged.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Nintendo dslite wont turn on.tried charging it wit 3 different charges and it still wont charge

Ensure that you are properly recharging the battery.

1. Insert the small end of the adapter into the external extension connector (labeled "5.2V=IN") on the back of the Nintendo DS Lite, just next to the SLOT 1 Game Card opening.

2. Swing the prongs on the AC adapter until they lock into place, then insert it into a standard (120 volt) outlet.

The plug should be mounted vertically or on a floor outlet (such as a power strip).

3. Once the adapter is properly inserted, the unit will begin to charge (the orange charging light will display).

4. Once the DS Lite is fully charged, the orange charge light will go off.

Check the AC Adapter for damage (such as bent prongs or split wires). If you see damage to the AC Adapter, purchase a replacement from Nintendos Online Store.

Try plugging the AC Adapter into another wall outlet. Its possible the outlet is not working properly and has not been charging the Nintendo DS Lite.

If you are unable to get power to your Nintendo DS Lite, despite trying to properly recharge the unit, then your system will need to be repaired.

Nintendo offers convenient repairs, fast turnaround times and, for all systems repaired, a new one-year manufacturer's warranty.

Charger stuck in ds lite

Gently wiggle the charger from side to side, not too much incase you break the pins. it may be a little stiff to start with. Apply a fair amount of force and have lots of patience : )

Hope this helps,

Nintendo DS Adapter

You'll need an adapter that works in your country. If once you have that it still does not work then you probably need a new battery. Without a working battery you won't be able to play the DS even if the charger is plugged in. The charging light will flash and go out if the battery is bad.

Nintendo DS Lite - Not charging

sounds like you've blown a fuse inside the ds itself. Check on the underside of your console and check if it says "5.2v in" adjacent to your charger port if it does then the uk charger is safe to use. But the fact remains you may of blown a fuse. There are two fuses in the ds and are very small they can be repaired easily if you have any soldering skills.
