Open the front looper cover to the machine and see if there is a diagram inside this cover, many machines have this to show the threading up sequence/position of thread carriers and there may also be red dots indicating oiling points. Sometimes it will be where the looper pivots, my Bernina has two oiling points within the front cover.
Also its a good habit to brush out this area, around the cutting blades and shute and inside the left cover also to remove all lint after each new project. Lint builds up quickly as the blade cuts fabric and there is always fibres produced. DON'T use an air compressor or canned air, use a brush and a vacuum to extract the dust/lint.

And lastly, move the cutting blade away from the fixed blade and wipe both with a cloth moistened with a little oil to keep these two blades lubricated and lint free.

I have a Janome sewing machine model J3-24 Does it need to be oiled. there IS no advice in the manual which came with the machine. My previous sewing machine needed regular oiling.

If the manual doesn't call for oiling the machine, then the sewing machine has sealed bearings that do not need additional lubricant. Most computerized sewing machines do not need oiling by the user.

I hope this helps.

Do I oil a janome magnolia 7330?

If it is a computerized machine, oil only as instructed in the owner's manual.

If it is mechanical, a drop of good quality sewing machine oil ever place where metal rubs against metal.

How do I oil my Janome fjs 1823

You should consult your owner's instruction manual. Different machines require different care. If you don't have a manual, contact Janome manufacturer support or search online:

Or call your local Janome dealer for assistance.

Oil my machine

This really depends on the model of machine you have. Most new machines are self oiling, but some still require a drop of oil in the bobbin case. Your sewing machine manual should include a oiling diagram if your machine requires that the user oil their machine. You should be able to download a manual for your machine from the Janome website, even the retired models are there.

How to maintain and clean

oil only according to the instruction manual,, if it doesn't say any thing about oiling in the manual, then contact the mfg of the machine (example singer) & ask them about the oiling of the machine.
a sewing machine will last a long time with the proper care, just like a car.
