I installed a brand new Lexmark ink cart and got a message that it is an incorrect cartridge, which it isn't. I tried a second brand new Lexmark ink cart and got the same message.
I put the old empty ink cart back in and it gives the same message. How can I get rid of the message so it will print. The ink cart is Lexmark No. 1

When you say, "Brand new Lexmark Ink Cartridge..." is that a true statement? Is this a Lexmark Factory new cartridge?
If it is, then the cartridge itself has a warranty against defects. Contact Lexmark Technical Support and tell them the problem and the purchase information and have them replace the cartridge for you.
Take out the cartridge , turn off your printer and take out all the cables behind your printer and wait for 5 minutes and put everything back in.. if the same error shows.. im sorry but your printer needs to be replaced.
