Screen shows several 1" to 1.5" horizontal and vertical bars regardless of source input - problem also present if set on with no source input. Bars remain in same position with or without source input - do not resemble screen burn in - I suspect a processor issue of some kind. Model is Samsung HP S4253.
Press the menu on the TV and let me know if the menu is effected. If the Menu if effected , you can try unplugging the power cord for a minute and replugging it back. If the issue still persists , a physical diagnostic is necessary to determine the exact defective part on your device. It could be a problem of main board or even worse, the panel.
This can be in your video cable or LCD Connector issue. but most problem is in the flex cable of LCD. some other cases cannot be fix and replace new LCD Screen.

I've tried solution #1 and #2 - problem persists. The bars appear with our without input, and do affect menu veiwing. I agree a problem with the panel is likely. The dealer has confirmed my extended warranty is in effect and has arranged for someone to contact me to service it. I'll post a report on the findings once known. Thanks for your efforts.
