NIkon cool pix 5400 will not turn on. Battery is fully charged.

A couple of possibilities. The battery is bad and not accepting a charge. Replace the battery. The battery terminals are dirty. Using cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol, clean then fully dry the metal contacts on the battery and inside the battery compartment. Before turning it back on, be sure everything is fully dry.

Canon sx240 powershot, when turning on camera with a fully charged battery it tells me to change the battery pack and will not turn on, but if i press the view photo option it reads as a fully charged...

What's more likely to be the issue is that the spring loading on the door has loosened over time, and the battery simply isn't being pressed up against the contacts in the camera firmly enough.

Camera won't turn on

If none of the suggested causes helps resolve the issue, then I suggest you bring it in for repair.

Please check the following things when the camera does not turn on.

Possible causes and how to handle them
1. The camera is not on

Turn on the camera. (Operation procedure varies between camera models. Please refer to the camera user guide supplied with your camera.)

2. The rechargeable battery is not fully charged.

Make sure the rechargeable battery is fully charged. If the battery has not been used for an extended period of time, or if it is being used for the first time, it may not be fully charged. In cases like this, fully charge the battery and then discharge it completely in the camera several times to bring the battery back to its normal performance.

The rechargeable battery's capacity diminishes the longer the battery is used. When the battery consumption becomes quicker, the battery life may be at its end. Replace the battery with a new one.

3. The battery terminals are dirty.

When camera does not operate with a brand-new alkaline battery (for cameras that use AA-size batteries) or with a fully charged rechargeable battery, the terminals may be dirty.
Polish the terminals with a dry cloth and make sure the terminals are clean. If the terminals are covered with oil from your skin or similar matter, this may cause poor contact and power may not be fully supplied to the camera.

Also, polish the battery charger terminals with a dry cloth before charging the battery. If the terminals are covered with oil from your skin or similar matter, this may cause poor contact and the battery may not be fully charged.

4. The batteries are not installed correctly (for cameras that use AA-size batteries)

For cameras that use AA-size batteries, multiple batteries are used in one camera. Make sure the direction of each battery matches the direction indicated on the camera. If any of the batteries are improperly inserted, the camera will not operate.

5. The battery cover or CF card (SD card) slot cover is not securely closed

Most cameras have a lock mechanism on the battery cover. The camera will not turn on if the battery cover is not locked or securely closed, or if the CF card (SD card) slot cover is not securely closed. Make sure these covers are securely closed.

If your camera does not operate after checking each of these things, or if there is any visible damage on your camera that could be the cause, please contact the nearest Service Center.

My nex tech binoculars will not turn turn on . Batteries are good

Was the camera dropped??

If it wasnt dropped try changing the batteries.

install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into the camera.

1. If the camera is on, turn it off.
2. If any accessories (memory card, lens, USB cable, camera or printer dock, etc.) are connected to the camera, remove/disconnect them.
3. Remove the battery/batteries from the camera.
4. Verify:
That you are using the correct battery/batteries for the camera
That the battery/batteries are correctly installed
That the battery/batteries are fresh or fully charged
Follow the battery installation and charging instructions in the camera User Guide
5. Turn on the camera.

My battery is fully charged but when i turn the camera on it shuts right back off

SOunds like your battery is bad. try discharing it :
  1. Place the battery in your camera until it itself turns off. In this situation, the battery is fully discharged.
  2. Take out your battery and slide it into your battery charger.
  3. Connect your charger with power to fully charge the battery. It is normal for a new battery that battery indicator shows 100% capacity in 10 to 15 minutes. Please keep charging until there is no time left for charging.
  4. Fully charged and fully discharged or "cycled" as much as five times to condition them into performing at full capacity.
Try it and see if it works? If the batteries are not rechargeable then the problem is in the cameras power supply and you need to take it in or replace it.
