Input signals Marantz SR4003

I have only one digital input connected (optical from tv to receiver --> audio), but can i connect this input digitally to my dvd-player, tv, and dss, to all the three at the same time?

In the menu i can select these inputs: 1-2-3-4 or - or F, what means the F?

Thank you for answering my question.

Greets,

Frank

Thank you for answering my question, but this is not what i mean. I have a LED TV, a Playstation 3 (DVD), and a DSS. All the components are connected with HDMI to the receiver: LED TV HDMI1, PS3 HDMI2 and the LED TV HDMI out. Everything works great but the sound and the image is not synchronous, so i connected an optical cable from LED TV to receiver (digital input 1), for the audio, and now everything is synchronous! But this is the problem: when i want to play with the PS3, i have to switch in the setup menu: DSS was 1 becomes -, and PS3 (DVD) was - becomes 1. ????

There are four digital connectors on the back of the unit: 2 optical and 2 coaxial. They are marked a s 1 2 3 4. 1 and 2 are optical, 3 and 4 - coaxial. Also you have front optical connector marked as F.
You can connect 5 digital sources to your receiver. For example, connect your DVD to input 2 (optical) by optical cable and connect your DSS to input 3 by coaxial cable. Assign DVD to digital 2 and DSS to digital 3 in input setup menu.

How do i connect marantz rs2252. To tv

Do you have an audio out or headphone jack on the TV? If not you'll need a digital TV tuner converter box that does. If you remember, these are the "digital conversion" boxes the government provided when the USA switched from analog to digital TV. They sell for $50 - $60, have a input for TV system (antenna, cable, etc) and analog outputs that will connect to your Marantz via the "Aux" input. Purchase shielded "RCA male to RCA male" connection cables at Radio Shack, connect "Audio Out" from converter box to "Aux In" on Marantz and you're done.

How do I connect the audio from a Panasonic to p50-s1 to a marantz nr1403 so that I get surround sound audio?

The Audyssey setup does not use any audio from the TV. Audyssey is started automatically when you plug in the calibration microphone. Once you start the setup, it will output a calibration tone to each speaker. (Read the Audyssey setup instructions.) There is 1 digital audio optical input on the back of the NR1403. You will need a optical digital cable for the connection. Once connected, you'll need to use the input setup menus to select that digital sound input to go with the video input you are watching. Check page 15 of the manual.

I bought a second hand marantz receiver. my problem is when i push the cd button the display read like this: CD/DIG2/STEREO/NO DATA and the it will go back by it self to CD/DIG. what should i do? please...

the receiver is ok. it is telling you that CD is assigned to digital #2 input, surround mode is stereo and there is no input signal. You need to connect a source to digital2 input (coaxial or optical) and you'll get sound from it.

Marantz SR4003

Hip shot: No one let's you record digital audio onto analog equipment (yet).

On looking at Page 26 of the manual, that is verified. (See the Notes). Use only the analog audio and it will probably work for you. The A/D switch decides which you will use.

Marantz sr5001 has pcm light flashing after child pushed buttons on front of receiver. no longer getting audio/video in tv mode but other modes are still working without issue. how can I get audio/video...

I suppose pcm light means that the pcm mode is turned on (pcm meaning pulse code modulation), in other words, the unit was switched to digital signal, so if the digital rca or optical TV input on your reciever is not connected to anything, then you're not getting any signal into the reciever in digital mode. You probably just need to switch the unit back to analog mode (see if there is a button that says something like digital/analog, pcm/analog, optical/coax or similar, try pressing it, see if there is any change).

I might just be totally wrong on this, however, probably the best way to learn what happened is to read the user manual if you do have it (see what the pcm light signals for and check any chapters inside the manual related to that topic).

good luck

Hi ,Marantz SR7200 , i am getting an audible hiss on phono inputs and digital optical inputs . If a connect something to the front phono inputs , however there is no hiss , any ideas ? Thanks in advance .

if your hooking up a phono input lead to a digital input lead it won't work analog and digital totally different setup. when you connect the leads up it just kills the input amp so there is no noise.

No sound unless VIDEO signal is plugged into receiver

Connect the DVD player audio with digital coax into the digital audio connection as you described and the DVD video directly to the TV. Now switch the input mode on the receiver to DVD. Then switch the video output mode on the TV to correspond to the input you plugged into. Any source in 5.1 dolby digital or dts should now work properly and have picture too.

Kenwood vrs-6100 receivers optical digital

You want to receive the optical signal from the TV's built in decoder / receiver to play through your Kenwood? Maybe you need to select the digital input. The manual says:

Use the INPUT SELECTOR key (or Input Selector keys)
to select DVD, VIDEO or FRONT AUX.

2 Press the INPUT MODE key.
Each press switches the setting as follows:

1 "F-AUTO": Auto detect
("AUTO DETECT" indicator lights up)

2 "D-MANUAL": Fixed to digital input
("DIGITAL" indicator lights up)

3 "ANALOG": Fixed to analog input *
("AUTO DETECT", "DIGITAL" indicator goes off)

Also check your TV to make sure it is outputting to the optical jack.
