Jura E9 grinder spins but does not grind

Without any previously weird behavior, my Jura Imprezza E9 stopped grinding beans for coffee. It comes on and rinses fine. But then the Fill Beans message appears, whether or not I have beans in the container. When I press a button for coffee, the grinder runs its normal cycle (I can hear it) and I see beans 'hop around' in the container but they are not pulled down into the grinder like normal. The machine then spits a small amount of hot water and returns to the Fill Beans message. I've tried removing all beans see if any were stuck -- but I cannot see into the grinder to be certain. I've run the clean cycle with the cleaning tablet -- no difference (I'd cleaned it one month ago).

Thanks,
- David

I had a similar problem, and solved it by turning the grinder by hand against resistance. Apparently the grinder wasn't really turning during the cycle and needed to be cleared. If your beans are "hopping" this may be a different problem.

Testimonial: "Grinder is turning but old bean oil is clogging it. Stirring beans on next brewing after drying the grinder was also customer services recommendation"

I think the sensor may have blown in this unit or at least be dirty so does not know when beans are in there.
Put one bean instead of 43 and see what happens see if that bean at least passes through. that shoulkd determine if the grinders are not jammed because of a bearing problem Nylon bearings in this model i think and they can get hot and fuse to the grinders.

They brag about their support and testimonials so put them to the test from this link.http://www.capresso.com/about-us.shtml

Jura beans won't grind

I just called Jura support and they talked me through this SIMPLE solution and it worked right away. Change the grind setting *while the grinder is a spinning*. If you don’t do it while its spinning nothing will happen.

Don’t hesitate to call Jura - their support team is very good.

Unusual one that one. Have you ever used grind crystals to clean out the coffee grinders? It will get rid of the coffee oils and gunge.

Our bean grinder has stopped grinding. It spins but the beans do not grind. The machine works fine on the ground coffee option.

Did you put water in the grinder by mistake? If the grinder is wet it won't grind anymore, have to cleaned the blades physically .
OR are you using the beans from the fridge? It's a NO NO.

My Jura S9's grinding unit clogged (due to Peete's beans)

Usually water in the grounds container is caused by the coffee solenoid valve return side being blocked from dry coffee. Using cleaning tubelets to clean the coffee grounds out. If that doesn't work then you should remove the solenoid and clean it out with warm water. If that still doesn't rid you of the wet grinds you should have a certified repair tech take a look at it. You may end up having to replace the solenoid but that should be verified by a tech before you spend the money.

My machine states I need to fill it with beans when it has beans in it. How can I fix this, or am I able to have this fixed locally?

It seems that your grinder is clogged. try opening the lid for preground coffee. With a torchlight you will be able to see the outlet from the grinder. Clean out all the coffee that`s stuck there. It`s smart to have a small brush with an angle to do this, and then vacuum it all out.
Also, check your adjustment on the grinder, it shouldn`t be to fine, this could clogg the grinder again.

If this doesn`t help, you need to contact your local servicecenter.

I have a Saeco Incanto Rondo with a grinder related problem

First step.If the grind is to coarse the burrs will spin to fast sensing no beans.
Solution: The grind needs to be finer. Caution you can over adjust causing the clay burrs to shatter.

Spinning but not grinding

This fixes almost all the "beans will not feed or beans will not grind" problems caused by coffee bean dust packed in the burrs. Oily beans cause this problem more fequently.
a. Pour all the beans out the top.
b. Open the settings up all the way and see what else can be poured out. Use your shop vacuum to **** grounds out the spout and backward out the bean bin.
c. Pour in some instant rice and start grinding. Reduce the grind to a small setting like six and then open the settings all the way again. (The grinder will not start at a low setting with the rice in it. If you let it stop, open the settings to about 16 before trying to restart.)
d. Pour out the rice and vacuum out the ground rice.
e. Adjust the grinder to your favorite setting and try a coffee grind. Grind until most of the rice dust is expelled (any remaining trace of rice dust will not affect the flavor of the coffee).
