Last week during a lightning storm Our comcast cable took a hit i think, comcast had to replace filter and ground but it also blew out everything that was hooked to cable. a ' 03 52''sony TV, a desk top PC,router, modem, a 14'' sony Vaio, a Xbox 360 and My sons 26''sony bravia. It has a blank screen and the timer light blinks red 2 times, pauses and blinks twice, etc..
Is it worth repairs? it was manuf. in 07 bought in 08.
Thanks in advance

Sounds rough. Most likely a lot of your stuff could be salvaged. Have them checked out by someone you know that has experience with them. With something like that, honestly its hard to say what is actually wrong with it. It could just be the mainboard OR the power board on the LCD. Either of which could be replaced for <$80 usually ($80 for the part and the work isn't too bad for anyone who knows how to open those things up). At the same time, it could be both of them, which would in my opinion not be worth it. If you choose to get rid of it, most likely you could sell it on eBay (check the shipping costs) and make some money off of it. LCDs of that size are harder to find broken with good screens. A lot of people have LCDs with broken screens, but there aren't too many good screens out there. Also, Sony might have a trade in program, where they give you a discount on a new TV if you own or give them your broken old Sony. I know Polaroid has something like that (but the prices are usually not that great to begin with - you may be able to get one cheaper in store without the trade-in discount). Good luck. Hope everything works out.

No sound through Bravia speakers after BOSE removed.

Did you ever have audio through your tv before?
It's likely that your Comcast cable box was connected directly to your Bose system, and not your television.
You'll need to check the connections from your cable box, to your television.

Lightning Storm/Affinity Washer

During a lightning storm, a lightning strike could have induced a high voltage surge in your incoming power lines. Left unprotected from these power surges, the weakest link ( normally low voltage electronic controls) are the most susceptable. Just because you had power available at the wall receptacle after a storm doesn't mean that your washer control system wasn't exposed to one of these surges and got damaged. On the contrary, it is extremely likely that the washer took a 'hit' and was damaged.Other devices plugged into the same receptacle may have survived that hit because electricity travels the path of least resistance.. In this case.. that path may have been thru your washer.. My point being is that your washer could have sustained a power surge and was damaged so don't rule that out. Of course, that surge could have taken an internal fuse or other component out too..
