There are several faults that may result in the problem. Check the throttle position sensor voltage range. If the TPS is bad the transmission control module (TCM) will not know that you are opening the throttle and will not engage higher gears. Check the solenoid for the gears that are not engaging. Check wiring from TCM to solenoids and wiring between overdrive switch and module. The transmission shift solenoid are located on the transmission in the valve body. Check the speed sensor (VSS) located in the transmission. If all that is OK sk the dealer to scan TCM and ECM (main computer) for issues. Additionally if the box has been replaced with a used one, then the installed transmission may be faulty. Test all the rest first.
I carried my Westinghouse TV to the basement. Unplugged the antenna from the digital converter box and connected it to my digital TV. I then re-scanned for channels and found channel 9. After carrying the Westinghouse TV back upstairs, I connected the original set-up and tuned to channel 9 which was now showing on the screen as no signal. From that point I moved my VHF dipoles until I had located the correct position for reception. A little labor intensive, but I was fortunate to have another antenna that was receiving channel 9.
