The main board is having issues as that would account for the different symptoms. You should be able to get a replacement main board from www.tvrepairworld.com
If you have a Blu-Ray player, you can use a number of Blu-Ray discs (Spiderman 3, Terminator 2: Skynet Edition, Monsters Inc; for example) that have "optimizers" on them to help you adjust your settings. Some DVDs do as well, though not quite as in-depth. That's a start. There are other calibration discs (specifically) that are available for purchase as well. Basically, it all boils down to personal taste. Remember that contrast is the 'white level' and brightness is 'black level'. Choose the settings that look best to YOU, as you are the one that will be viewing it. However, the discs will help you distinguish the differences between too much/too little contrast, color, brightness, sharpness; as it's not always easy to figure out on your own. They usually also tell you what to look for as you make your adjustments. Good luck!
37LG30 - loosened the 4 screws on the back of the TV but base mount wouldn't come off. Found that had to remove the screws even though already loose so that doesn't bind in the holes. Did this by making the loose screws bind in the wholes. Using twisers in the whole would have done the same thing. o
This is more probably a software fault within the TV. They need instructions for HDMI inputs & a no sound is a related fault. I would get in touch with your dealer to arrange the TV to be updated to cure this problem. Hope this helps.
I would advise you to call LG's customer service at 800-243-0000 to set up service. There is a service bulletin about this issue specifically for your model. Your set requires a simple software update to fix the audio delay with HDMI issue. You can ask LG's customer service to refer to bulletin #0IVL20080379. Hope this helps.
