Cannot locate webcam on my computer

Try re-installing the WEBcam driver.
You can download the WEBcam and device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where the specific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you select the Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Hi rex onil, i'm sure the driver with your built-in webcam is already installed with your pc maybe some application of this sotfware are currupted you just try to fix your webcam thru re-configure the driver of this you go to control panel you click system open it and click the hardware click manager devices and wait all attached devices comes out then find your built in webcam in the list then double click then click driver then update the driver then re-start your computer to execute the update.Thanks for using fixya.

I have the same laptop, and i got the same problem with the camera, but see what i found. The built-in camera is located in the same piece of plastic that camera does. Then, if you open/close the laptop so many times, this seems to damage the camera connection and is like it doesnt have any camera. So when i want to use the camera, i simply push with my thumb around the camera, and run the program/chat or anything that i will use the camera. Of course, you first look at the drivers, if correct , then try the other solution i post. And theres no built in microfone. Hope it solve it.

good day!Please install the driver of your webcam..if it is built-in,then it comes from the cd drivers of your laptop.be sure the computer detects the hardware webcam.

Because the webcam is built into the lid on the inside, it probably connects with the same cable as the display. If your screen goes blank and won't come back on, it might be worth it to take the laptop apart and reseat the cable. Otherwise, you may want to buy an external webcam and plug it into the USB port.

The acer 5332 doesn't have a webcam. If you look on the side of the box it states
Built-in Webcam No

Hi,

Try to login to windows messanger if you have else some chat programs like yahoo,skype or google, followed by try making a video call and it'll let you know whether your webcam works or not.

But if you want to see your webcam programs,
click start - all programs - search for the name(Web cam manufacturer)
or
open my computer - open c:\ - program files - search for the webcam manfacturer.. It should be there..

is you camera built in? or separate? try to reinstall the driver of your webcam, but first uninstall it in the device manager panel. note! be sure that your camera is properly connected to the computer. in order to determine that, unplug and reconnect the usb of your webcam, if the computer detects it, then your webcam is connected. Try the first suggestion.

You need to click on [Start] then click on [My Computer] and then [Acer Crystal Eye Webcam] will show up then click on the [Camera]. If this does not work then it could be that the cam driver needs reinstalling or maybe faulty. Take it back to your dealer!
