SOURCE: In power save mode

The monitor is not receiving signal from the computer. Is the power light on on the computer? If so - press and hold power button on computer until the power light goes off, then press again to restart. If the computer starts and you still have no picture it is most likely a video card or motherboard problem.

Dropped keyboard. Now display on monitor says 1. Analog input in power save mode - press any key or move mouse to turn on. I have done both, neither works. I have turned off system and I see it rebooting...

Hello,

the message Analog input in power save mode means that your monitor is not getting a signal from your computer.

Maybe you moved the video cable while reconnecting your keyboard? check both ends of your video cable.

If you have a DVI cable, then your monitor has to be switched to digial input.

I hope this helps.

How to unlock the key pad on a dell latitude D600 laptop

Hi. Please do troubleshooting steps below:

1. Check to be sure your "Number Lock" or "Function Lock" keys aren't lit. These can lock out certain parts of your keyboard. If either of these is lit, press them to unlock the locked portion of your keyboard. These can be found at the top right on a laptop and between the number pad and main keys on a desktop keyboard.

2. Save all open programs using your mouse. Use your mouse to restart your computer. This will only work if your computer isn't frozen. If your mouse doesn't move, press the power button on your Dell until the computer turns off. Press it again to restart. If the issue was lack of memory or a locked program, this will unlock your keyboard. Continue to Step 3 if the keyboard is still locked.

3. Shut down your computer using your mouse or power button. Don't restart. Unplug your Dell.

4. Remove the battery if you're using a laptop by turning the laptop over and sliding the battery release latch. Slide the battery out and replace after one minute.

Have a good one!

My monitor shuts down after one second.

Dell monitors automatically go into power-save mode after a preset amount of time when the computer is inactive. The Dell monitor will go completely black, instead of showing a screensaver. This doesn't mean that your Dell computermag-glass_10x10.gif has shut down. Instead, this allows your monitor to essentially turn off until it's needed again. You can change how long it is before the Dell monitor goes into power-save mode by changing your display settings.
    1. Step 1 Press any key on your keyboard or move your mouse. Either will turn off power-save mode. Alternately, you can press the power button on your Dell computer tower or laptop.
    2. Step 2 Press any key a second time if the monitor goes from power-save to stand-by mode. Stand-by mode allows the screensaver to appear.
    3. Step 3 Enter your user name and password into the login prompt if your computer requires a login. Press "Enter" to begin using your Dell computer.
    4. Step 4 Change the display settings on your Dell monitor to prevent your monitor from going into power-save mode prematurely. Right-click anywhere on your desktop and choose "Properties." Click the "Screensaver" tab and press "Power." Beside "Turn off Monitor," choose a time amount from the drop-down list and press "Apply."
