Either corrupted windows, or bad motherboard. One thing you can do is unplug power cable and all usb devices, wait about 10 mins... plug everything back in and try it....

How do i download music from my computer to my iRiver E100 Digital Media Player?

You're computer should show you're device as a removable disk, just copy and paste songs from you're computer onto it.

How to charge the battery

if you turn the e100 on, make sure the computer registers that it is connected, and you should see somthing on the screen of the e100 that shows it is connected and charging. It should charge both on and off, and it will charge if the computer is in 'sleep' mode but will not charge if the computer is off

Iriver E100 is not recognized on PC

That might be a blessing in disguise. I have never liked the non-MSD option, but I tolerate it. You should be able to transfer and view files with the computer recognizing it as an MSD device. If you insist on changing it, use the iRiver plus 3 software from iRiver's website to update the firmware on the player, and your computer will no longer treat it as a Mass Storage Device - don't say I didn't warn you.
