Print head will not move at all but i can slide it back and forth by hand. and the alarm light flashes and the srceen reads check printer press resume key

the ink cartridge head typically runs on a clear tape back and forth , it uses this tape for head positioning. often the tape gets dirty and the head cannot position its self, which causes the ink head to slam into it carriage limits, while trying to find it. solution is to simply and carefully wipe off the tracking tape with vinegar and water. do this while the machine is unplugged and off. Try to move the head around to clean the tape, dont pull or move the tape as it has to run "just so" through the print head. The tape runs all the way across the inkhead travel zone. you will see it. please provide some thumbs up if this helps you. Thanks. Cheers

There's a rubber part in the printer on the right inside the printer underneath the print carriage that slides back and forth. If this has moved it will foul the print head. I moved mine back into the right place and the print head now moves freely.
