Barracuda x7 quattro won't go to the shallow end of the pool

It's cleaning the deep end just fine. I added extra weights as it suggested for deeper pools--no dice.

Zodiac X7 only 4 months have problems with Parts, had to replace all lower parts and now the flex hose fitting is bad.
I believe this design is a lemon.

I have also experienced multiple FAILURES and just made the 7th trip to my Pool Store in 6 months of ownership. I am going back to my old cleaner (Hayward Poolvac System). The dealer had solde me on Barracuda having one moving part and how great it was. Multiple failures and sticks in corners even when not broken. My hayward never got stuck. I should of never changed !

I also have a problem with my X7. I replaced the flex elbow because it leaks at the threaded joints. The new one leaks as well so I inserted the the suction gage at the wall inlet (5 ft deep) to to adjust the level. The unit tends to stick around the area of the wall connection. I have adjusted the weight location, but no help. I would replace the flaps if I was sure this would work. They seem to be worn a little but I have onle used the unit about 6 times in the first 9 months. Any other suggestions for getting it to the shallow end (2 ft deep).? One thing I haven't adjusted much are the inlet ports around the perimeter, which are supposed to be oriented dowward. Has anyone found this to be significant?

It's hard to fix something that doesn't work correctly from the minute you buy it. Not a week went by that I didn't have to make some type of adjustment. What worked well one week, had to adjusted the next. And now minw has a tear in the mouth and no longer moves around the pool. And the rebate is a joke - I never received mine!

Do not buy this piece of junk!!! Parts started to fall off the first month and the pool store was NOT helpful, said the rep would call us but never did. I had to call Leslies head office to get anything done. They finally replaced the leaking part. The last two months a part has fallen off every week (NOT exaggerating). We finally took it out of the pool today and the whole bottom of the unit is cracked. I'm with you beach4fun, we're going back to our Hayward.

My kreepy krauly wont clean the deep end of the swimming pool.

Your situation is unusual in that most of the time these will stay in the deep end and not get to the shallow end. Make sure that your hose is the proper length and the hose weights are in the right positions

Up to 4 feet water, 1 weight at one foot away from Kreepy
4-7 feet water, add a second weight at 6 feet from Kreepy
7-12 feet water add a third weight at 10 feet from Kreepy.

It can take some trial and error to get the Kreepy to cover the whole pool. This includes adding or removing hose sections, and adjusting the pool return "eyeballs" to different directions.

I just installed my G3. It pulsates fine and actually goes backwards instead of forward. Is this correct. Also, it seems to keep on the same path and cleaning only the path it has already cleaned going...

It depends on what you call backwards. These do move in the direction of the hose, not opposite the hose. Try adjusting the hose weights per the installation manual and it should work fine for you.

My pool cleaner only sweeps the deep water zone. It never comes up to the shallow half part of the pool. By the way, the approximate size of my pool is 18 ft x 36 ft.

This should be an easy problem to fix with this type of automatic pool cleaner. Add return diverters or divert return inlets downward. This will use flow to move cleaner to opposite end. Move hose weight away from cleaner head slightly. You might also have to add additional hose weights.

Vac gets stuck in deep end and can't get to shallow end

What type of pool do you have? These specific pool cleaners are made for flat bottomed above ground pools. They are not made to move from deep end to shallow end. If you are using this on an in ground pool that has both shallow and deep or a dished above ground pool, you are not going to get accurate cleaning.

My barracuda stays in the deep end and will not move to the shallow end of the pool

You probably just need to redirect the returns in the pool. If they are angled right (or wrong) they will get a current moving in the pool and cause the cleaner to go to one spot and keep it in just that area of the pool.

The barracuda will not go to the shallow end of the pool

reset your eyeball returns to different positions, their may be a current stopping it from going where you want it to.Reset them give half an hour or so and ck again. Do this till you get results.

Doesn't clean shallow end

try aiming the return ports to direct the cleaner to the shallow end

Does not clean the whole pool

may need to re-weight it or add helpers.
I had to add a rope system to my pool to get the creepy crawly to all the spots.

Not the best fix - but keeps the pool clean.
