NO power or dead control board with maytag washer mah9700aww

My maytag washer mah9700aww tripped the GFI a few times. I reset it and it continued its cycle. It then went totally dead. I replaced the control board and still no lights on control board. What should I be checking next rather that just swapping parts? Thanks rick

Are you getting power at the wall plug? Test it with a lamp or nitelite. GFI are made to protect people and need to be tested annualy by the button on the plug. You also have to reset it by the plug or circuit breaker. If the washer is on the same circuit as something else that uses high current it may too much current for the circuit. It use to be that we could not wash clothes and use the microwave so I moved the microwave.

Maytag washer door won't lock

Unplug it overnight to fully dissipate power from the control board memory.

The easiest way to reset a Maytag washer is to disconnect the power to the washing machine for three minutes. Disconnecting the power allows the electrical charge to dissipate from the washing machine, which allows it to reset. If the reset fails, unplug the washer again, this time leaving it unplugged for ten minutes.

REFRIGERATOR HAS STOPPED WORKING , NOTHING RUNS, NO LIGHTS NOTHING

If everything is dead the first thing you have to establish is that the unit is receiving electrical power. It is far fetched for every component to go bad at the same time!!!!!!

GE Profile Harmony washer won't power up and trips gfi

Did you replace the inverter board?? It is inside the tan plastic box in the bottom of the control panel I think on the right side. That controls the power supply to a good part of the machine and drive system. Has to be a direct short somewhere to trip the breaker.

Fisher & paykel washing machine has no power

it was probably the pump shorting / overheating, and running it has caused it to blow the fuse in the motor controller.

Tripping GFI

proceed using the common sense. You must open the microwaves for to see what happen, the coffee produce bad contacts, and reaction from component like short, etc. However the following. God bless you
Door Switch If the microwave runs for a few seconds and then shuts off, a door switch might have failed intermittently. Check each of the door switches for any signs of overheating, arcing, or burning. Also check each of them for continuity. Replace any of the switches that is visibly damaged or that only has continuity intermittently.

Main Control Board If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops there may be a short circuit in the main control board. Check other components first, these boards are often misdiagnosed.
Touchpad and Control Panel If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the touchpad and control panel might be defective. There are several other components that can cause this problem, be sure to check any other components before replacing this board.

Touchpad If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the touchpad might be at fault. This is not common. Generally speaking, if the dishwasher display is working and some of the buttons respond correctly but some don't, the problem is with the touchpad.

High Voltage Transformer If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the high voltage transformer might have an intermittent short. This is not common. Check other components related to the microwave symptom first.

Thermoprotector If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the thermoprotector may have tripped. This is a safety device to prevent the microwave from overheating. It can be tested for continuity to see if it's blown.

Thermostat If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the thermostat might be defective. Watch our video on testing thermostats.

Gfi installed yesterday on washer 120 v outlet. washer is maytag 3 years old and gfi began tripping during washcycle. can it be washer 3 pronged cord is not grounded at connection in rear of washer?...

The ground not being connected does not tirp thr gfi. The gfi senses the current between the two legs it will trip when the current returning to ground (neutral) exceeds 5mili amps. This is for personal protection. If you have a gfi circuit breaker disconnect the black wire from the breaker, if it does not trip you likely have a groung fault in the washer. If you have a dryer or other metal object that is grounded (Bonded) you may get a shock from it, also standing (barefoot) on a concrete floor may cause the same. ( bonded is a gronded conductor that attaches all metal parts of a electrical curcuit together) a hot lead goes to ground is a dead short and will trip any breaker.

NO POWER

do any of the lights come on when you press the power button? if nothing comes on, then check the GFI outlet and see if it has tripped. quick check would be to unplug the washer from the wall and plug in a lamp. if the lamp doesn't work either, then the outlet doesn't have power.

either the GFI needs to be reset or the circuit breaker at the main panel needs to be reset. one GFI will control a couple of outlets that could be exposed to water (eg, bathrooms, laundry rooms, outdoors, etc). you'll need to find the one and hit the RESET button on the outlet.

if the GFI outlet is reset and still no power to the lamp, then find the circuit breaker panel (usually in a garage, basement or outdoors). open the door and see if one of the breakers has tripped. reset it (or replace if its an old style glass fuse) and see if power is now restored to the outlet cause the lamp now lights up.

if power is there to the outlet, but the washer still will not come on (and either work or display error codes), then one more thing to check is the connection at the machine/motor control unit (connector P13 at the unit). disconnect the washer from the wall outlet. to access P13, you'll have to remove the top console panel (its the one that has all on the buttons on it). its held on with 3 screws on the back that you can get to from the top (no need to move the washer out from the wall). loosen the screws, tip the the panel forward and lift it up. it will be connected to the computer board, so just move it out of the way. P13 will have the large black wires going to it. give it a push to see if its not locked in place. if you hear a "click", then it was not properly connected. you can remove it and reinstall it if you want, but make sure the machine is not plugged into the wall outlet.

put the console back together, plug the washer in and see if it works. if it still doesn't power up, then sounds like the computer board is dead and you'll need a new one. its about $150 from searspartsonline. replacing it is easy, but sears may pay $150 towards labor and $100 towards parts. give them a call.

good luck.
