Juicer is not economical in extracting juice; the pulp is juicy.

I have an older Jack Lalanne Juicer and have not had any problems. My mom has one that is a year old, my dad tried using it and said he had to push really hard and he didn't think it was working correctly.

I tried using it recently, and I had to push really hard to get things to go through. It is not efficient in extracting juice, and the pulp is quite juicy. I tried using my friend's--the exact same juicer, the exact same age, and it worked much better. I have looked closely at both juicers and can't figure out what the difference is!

Are the recipe book or the owners manual available?

The owner's manual should be available online. Any good juice recipe book will work with this juicer. I've found amazing recipes online and especially at countless Nutritional/ Vegan websites. This type of juicer is a "juice extractor", meaning it doesn't completely liquify all of the pulp like the new Ninja does. Look for recipes that work for a juice extractor.

Where is the safety Switch in the Jack Lalanne juicer express?

The safety switch is on the bottom base where the pulp collection bin goes. If you look on the pulp collection bin there is a small tab that when assembled right deactivates the safety switch. The main arm that holds the top container where you put the produce in is also a safety mechanism that when not in place the machine will not turn on.

I need to find/buy 2 replacement parts for my jack lalanne stainless power juicer model SSMT1000 - the crescent tool and the pulp collector. Do you know where to find replacement parts?

Replacement parts for the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer can be purchased on-line from the following website:

https://www.unitycart.com/pjss/parts/parts_classic.asp

Select your model from the horizontal menu bar; unfortunately not labeled by model number. Scroll down to see the available replacement parts and add to your cart.

My jack Lalanne juicer just suddenly stopped working.

Mine stopped working after only a few uses. It turns out that the safety microswitch button wasn't being depressed. The little button on the bottom of the pulp collector had broken off. (Image #1) I put a 1/4 inch piece of a shishkabob skewer in the hole before putting the pulp collector on. (image #2) It works fine now. It's still safe. The motor will not start unless the pulp collector (receptacle) is in place and locked in. Be sure to unplug the machine before doing this. 3717db6c-91bc-41ee-b452-1ed06578f280.jpgjack-lalanne-juicer-just-rgzqoe2q2f3mnxiw25vk3yhi-4-2.jpg

Pomegranate

Well ya can juice 'em but it's a bit labour intensive .. lol 'cause ya gotta skin 'em, and get ALL the "Seeds" out, they taste bad... then put the pulp in.. and juice away... yield is low also .. but tastes real nice in the end.. I usually do it in a plastic bag,and tip the pulp into the juicer. Ya can make great "leathers" too..
