GE Wall Oven JKP13GOTBB Touchpad is "too sensitive"??

I just had a new-to-me wall oven installed. It was apparently working correctly when taken out of a house during a remodel and I was hoping for a relatively inexpensive replacement for an old wall oven. When trying to set the clock, we noticed that the display moved too quickly, making it impossible to set the time.

I could live with that, but then noticed that the same thing happens when trying to set the temperature on the bake setting--it will jump from 170 to 400 to 550 and back down randomly as soon as the up or down keys are pressed, as if the keys are too sensitive. The oven heats--problem is in the touchpad. Any solutions? Thanks for your help.

I don't see that exact model number listed. Check the model / serial number again. If the unit is not too old, you can probably get a replacement key panel which should solve your problem.

I have a GE rapid clean II J55BF-1 wall mount oven needs to replace the baking element. Did someone happen to know the part number of the replacement baking element ?

To find the correct replacement baking element for your GE Rapid Clean II J55BF-1 wall mount oven, you can try the following steps:
  1. Locate the model and serial number of your oven. This information is usually found on a label on the inside of the oven door or on the back of the oven.
  2. Visit the GE Appliances website or use an online appliance parts retailer to search for the part using your oven model number.
  3. Look for the baking element part number in the oven's user manual or service manual. These manuals may be available online or from the manufacturer.
  4. If you are still having trouble finding the correct part number, consider contacting the manufacturer's customer service department for assistance.
Once you have the correct part number, you can order the replacement baking element and follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation.

What does F-1 MEAN ON HE TRUE TEMP WALL OVEN MEAN?

Hello, Deborah -

I hope I am correct in thinking that you do not have the owner's manual for your oven. If you do have the manual, failure codes are probably listed in the manual, with an explanation of what they mean.

According to information on the list of GE Wall Oven Error Codes provided by Sears PartsDirect:
https://www.searspartsdirect.com/wall-oven-repair/error-codes/ge-wall-oven-error-codes.html
F1 means:
Stuck or defective button on the key panel
The check / repair is:
(Quote)
Push the Clear/OFF pad. Shut off power to the oven, disconnect the flat ribbon connector from the electronic oven control board and then restore electrical power. If the code reappears after about 30 seconds, replace the electronic oven control board. If the code doesn't reappear, replace the key panel.
(End quote)

Best wishes.

I am replaceing the ERC on a GE wall oven #JKS05BW2BB. The ribbon connector from the touchpad has a ''plug'' and the new ERC had a ''socket'' for just the ribbon. Will the touch panel have to be replaced...

The new control pad has a removeable plug. Take it out and insert the old touchpad plug in its place.
Should be 2 qick connect snaps on the new control to remove the insert.

New oven, new installation. power at wall outlet, no power at ove

Open wire...either ground or neutral.

Lights are 110volt...and possibly there is a disabling feature due to open wire, as stated above, not allowing oven to operate.

When ground and/or neutral are provided all should work.
