Frigidaire Dryer making loud thumping noise in back.

Dryer seems to still work fine; heats and spins. My husband checked the band and it seems fine but there is a loud thumping sound coming from the back of the dryer.

It is a Frigidaire Dryer about 8 years old (sorry don't have the model with me).

We'd appreciate any assistance in fixing this ourselves!

I have a thumping sound in my dryer we put in new belt and wheels what can it be?

what's the brand name and model number?when it spins if you hear a thump thump as it spins that could just be the drum where the rollers hit it,i've heard that alot of times in dryers,i wouldn't worry about it,if it heats and spins and it doesn't sound like metal on metal or not making a real loud noise it's most likely just the drum, could be a little out of round and when the rollers ride on it you hear thump thump then when it spins you hear it again it will be fine, look at the drum, you might see some black stuff on it where the rollers ride on it,you can try cleaning it up it might help but i wouldn't worry about it.

Thumping noise

Sounds like the tub is unbalanced from either a bearing/pulley suspension problem or the unit has broken something off in between the tub and outer portion of the unit before you get to the walled panels, and you are hearing a rubbing and thumping noise. This is not a typical DIY job since the entire back panel of the unit needs to be pulled off and diagnosed.

The dryer works but makes a loud thumping noise model#GLEQ642AS2

All dryers have some type of roller system that supports the drum as it turns. It sounds like one of the rollers or roller bearings has worn and is making that thumping noise. If you have some basic skills and good general mechanical sense you could fix it yourself. Make sure the dryer is unplugged before you attempt anything.

How do i take apart the my dryer

Sounds like a drum roller bearing. When they go bad they form a flat spot and that against the drum will give a loud thump. Turn the drum by hand and you should feel the flat spot. You may have to remove the back panel to get a good look see and a repair access. Good luck.

Maytag dryer (LDE5914ACE) loud slipping/thumping sound

yes, it's called a blower wheel... it is what blows the air into the dryer to blow out the humidity through the vent... it has a D fitting and as you use it, the D rounds out and the 'squirrel cage' stops spinning and begins to slip... if you continue to use the dryer without replacing this, you could burn up your dryer motor... it will just over heat....

Frigidaire was tub makes loud thump noise during spin cycle....

Need more information to make an accurate diagnosis, try removing the front panel (two screws at bottom) and visually check first the belt (all the way around) and then the springs that hold the tub suspended.
I would bet on the belt.

Loud thumping noise in Frigidaire model # FDE336RES2

You have to remove the top lid. Then remove the front panel. Then remove the belt and drum.
Your problem is a bad rear drum support assembly.
Remember to unplug the dryer.

Dryer is making loud thumping noise.

Take off the back panel of the dryer and look at the motor and belt turning the drum. There may be something caught on the drum and is pinned in place causing the noise. The motor could be loose on the platform and needs to be tightened. It is probably something physical and seen causing the noise.

Squeeky noise

I own a Frigidaire Heavy Duty Dryer The Model # is FDE436RES1. It is 10 years old. When running the dryer it makes a very loud squealing noise although the heat and the dryer still work. Is this a belt or roller problem or does it sound like something else. It is very high pitched and can be heard throughout the entire home. I do not know much about dryer troubleshooting so your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
