Actually it will very hard for you to access the ink pads for it was designed to be only touched by their service center. I would pressume your printer is giving you errors on waste ink pads full? Try this to reset the counter and be able to use your printer again..
the touch pad has a ribbon cable that connects to the control board poosible that the touch pad has failed or the control board itself.... most of the time the touch pad fixxes the problem... if you have power and all still try ordering the touch pad for the unit...
good luck to you
Is there a button with a light on it near your touch pad, sometimes these buttons don't have lights? Usually this button is centered on the bottom or top of the touch pad. If there is a button like this, then try pressing it to see if it gives you functionality of the touch pad. If you do have a button like this and it doesn't resolve the problem then there is a possibility that the touch pad has malfunctioned or that the connector has come loose somehow. If you don't have this type of button then look at your keyboard to see if there is a function key for turning off\on the touch pad. Look for the FN key. What color is it? Then look at the keys that have icons in that color. If you find one that you believe is for the keyboard then try pressing that key and the FN key at the same time.
start in safe mode and see if it works, if not, try to uninstall and re-install the mouse drivers ( could be a conflict) if driver re-installation fails, do system restore to a date when the touch was ok( you could have been hit by a virus). if still no luck, check touch pad hardware> means you have to open unit. check the touch pad to motherboard interface( could be loose).
Regards
the touch pad could have simply failed, most OS will interpret the mouse pad as a mouse to make it work, so if its gone its most likely not working, I mouse attached to a usb or one of the ps 2 connections might give you a mouse back temp you can replace most mouse pads. hope this helps
When the touch pad stops working it's one of three things. 1- A driver glitch, unistall the touch pad drivers from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find the touch pad and reinstall the drivers automatically. 2- The touch pad connector has worked loose. Take the palm rest with the touch pad off, disconnect the cable, clean the connectors, and reseat the cable firmly. 3- the touch pad has failed and will need to be replaced. The driver glitch is the most common, I believe that it should take care of the problem. Let me know.
