Either it has moisture in it (let it dry), or the dew sensor is bad and needs to be replaced.

WILL NOT HOLD A CASSETTE. VIDEO ERROR READS

normal dew indication is from moisture if you can find any desicant out of pill bottle sometimes in new electronics the desicant can be ractivated by placin in oven at 220 degrees basically above boiling point
15 to 20 minutes let desicant cool place camara and desicant in tight sealed container or plastic bag let set overnight see if moisture problem goes away

What doe DEW mean? The "DEW" sign keeps coming on and then shutting off..

DEW sign indicates high humidity level inside the camcorder. What you experiencing has nothing to do with humidity, It is a faulty connector on a junction board. Sharp has fix for it.

DEW indicator / battery

In your owners manual on page 52 you will find a list of authorized service centers. Give the one in your area a call. Give them the brand name and model number of the camcorder. Tell them you are having a problem with the dew warning coming on while using the camera with the battery. They should be able to help find a answer to this problem. You can also call the panasonic customer support telephone number at 1-800-211-7262 between the hours of 9am-7pm EST. Give them the brand name and model number of the camcorder and ask them for help with the problem of dew indicator coming on while in use with the battery. I get the DEW indication and cam shuts off

try to dry up your camera using electric hair blower drier, dew is present inside your camera, but dont overheat the unit, place your hand between drier and cam to make sure you are not overheating it. if the trouble is still there, the sensor is defective and you need pro fix.

The "DEW" indicator is illuminated on my Viewcam, what do I do to turn it off?

This means there is moisture inside the Viewcam. Try taking the tape out, leaving the cassette compartment open for 2 hours to allow any condensation to evaporate. If the DEW indicator is still illuminated call a Sharp authorized servicer.
