Internet explorer, firefox, and windows explorer will revert back a page and then to the home page (or in windows explorer, default window). this is on windows xp.

Hi Bob, the pattern is as follows (and it is the same for using internet on firefox, internet explorer, and for navigating the computer with windows explorer):

I open Internet Explorer, or Windows Explorer
    I go to any site
Within two clicks, the program will revert one page, usually after the click (so if I am looking at a email message, the page i am viewing will just change back to the inbox).
Within a few seconds, it will switch back to the home page.

I've resetted the user preferences but it does not solve it. I got Firefox but the pattern occurs there. Does that make sense? Any ideas?

Hi Matt, Please clarify when this happens--does it happen when you first open the program? Please provide blow-by-blow description of what you are doing, and what the computer does--that way someone can help you.
